Sportsbook takes 8.3 bets a second
An unidentified sports enthusiast from Texas had no idea that when he placed his wager last week, he had not only made a successful bet, but had also made history as Sportsbook.com's 100 millionth wager, a first in US online gaming, claims the betting group.
"We're taking an average of about 8.3 bets per second," reports Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director, Sportsbook.com. "No one else is even close to that volume, on any metric. This is a tremendous milestone."
The press release unfortunately did not say whether the sportsbook gave the player a special bonus to mark the occasion!
