ANOTHER CELEBRITY TOURNAMENT FROM WILL HILL
GBP 450 000 in the prize chest at inaugural William Hill Poker Grand Prix
William Hill Poker this week announced its first land-based poker tournament, and a star-studded line-up of poker professionals who will play in the inaugural GBP 450,000 William Hill Poker Grand Prix later this year.
The tournament differs from those currently being played out to satisfy the thirst for televised poker, by incorporating a tournament structure that aims to put the skill back in to game, rather than quick-fire blinds designed purely for speed, and to satisfy TV producers.
Phil Quayle, Poker Room Manager at WilliamHillpoker.com said "The calibre of player that has responded to our invites, clearly demonstrates that the top poker players view this event as a truly prestigious new tournament in the poker calendar.
"'Bad Girl' Xuyen Pham is currently the World Pot Limit Champion, whilst Andy Black won no less than $1.7 million in the recent World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas. Our tournament is almost exclusively restricted to professional players, it's the 'Tournament of Pro's' if you like and we expect many other players to confirm their presence for the tournament shortly."
The following players will be playing for a first prize of GBP 150 000 and will be joined in the select field of 56 by just 8 online qualifiers.
