bwin Online Sports Book to Sponsor Portuguese Liga Cup

Bwin the Austria based online gambling company that operates under international and regional licences in countries like Gibraltar, Canada, Belize, Germany,  Italy, Mexico, France and the United Kingdom, has recently announced it has signed a three season sponsorship deal with Portugal's professional soccer league.

The Portuguese Liga Cup competition and tournament will be renamed the Bwin Cup.
Bwin also has a sponsorship deal with Spain's Real Madrid Football Club.
bwin Interactive Entertainment has been listed on the Vienna Stock exchange since the year 2000 and maintains a strong presence in many parts of the world. The company  launched it's live bet product, which was developed in house, allowing players to place a bet on sporting events even while the actual event is taking place.

The relationship between the wagering operator and the sports clubs is very close and thus will ensure the integrity of sports and entertainment for both the consumer and athletes, Co-chief executive of bwin Manfred Bodner commented.

Bwin has worked closely between 2005 and 2008 with Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional as sponsor of the first division of the Portuguese Football League. The company has retained the official sponsor title since then.  

Bwin's acquired sponsorship entitlements include displaying its logo on the uniforms of all players participating in the Portuguese league cup, including the use of the designation “Official Title Sponsor”, while it's presence will be obvious at all club stadiums. The partners will also cooperate on media coverage.

Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional is the main organizer of the League Cup which includes sixteen clubs in the first Primeira Liga and second divisions Liga de Honra all of which will compete for the championship. 

Bwin will be creating a web site called the Bwincup and will be represented on the Taça da Liga internet site. Matches televised will also be carried by the bwin.com web site as broadcasts outside of Portugal.
