Mystery is part of the show when it comes down to poker playing. Being able to wear a poker face can be considered a valued skill when it comes to playing cards and can make the difference between winning and loosing.
The mystery surrounding well known and sought after online professional poker player “isildur1” has finally been lifted and the young champion’s identity has been revealed at last.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event in the Bahamas recently was the venue for the unmasking of “isildur1” not that long after PokerStars signed the player away from former sponsor Full Tilt Poker.
“isildur1s” real identity has kept other top pros such as Tom “durrr” Dwan and Phil Ivey wondering who they were playing in some high stakes games, something many think keeps the competition on edge.
The PokerStars site revealed at a press conference just prior to the tournament in the Bahamas that Viktor Blom, a young man from Sweden, is the man of so many questions. The reason for the 20 year old Swedes hidden identity has been mostly because of tax laws in Sweden that are extra hard on online income and professional gamblers.
Blom recorded some remarkable income highs and lows, while he played against some of the best players in the world, most notably in a live event where he finished sixteenth place at last year’s World Series of Poker Europe Main Event.
Blom will test his skills under the PokerSatrs banner against a new crew of competitors including several WSOP Main Event champions. The hype surrounding the identity of “isildur1s” has garnered PokerStars a lot of press. During the unveiling press conference Blom played and defeated another online poker professional Bertrand “ElkY” Grospelier in a heads-up exhibition match.
The PokerStars collection of big poker names continues to grow as Viktor Blom, joins
Bertrand Grospelier, Vanessa Rousso, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu as the team to beat.
