Casino Titan:

NOTE THIS CASINO HAS CLOSED DOWN.

Casino Titan is one of the newer Real Time Gaming-powered casinos to spring up on the ‘net (having opened in 2010). However thanks to the fact this casino accepts players from US it's managed to pull in the punters and, not wanting to miss out on the action, we decided to give it the Online-Casinos.com onceover.

As with most RTG-powered casinos, Titan is offered in two formats – browser and download client. However, we were impressed by the general look and feel of the Titan website – more so than the offerings of many other online casinos. The layout is attractive and the site has a very classy feel. Sadly the browser based games are just the standard RTG offering and whilst they are OK, they don't match the playing experience offered by the download client. As such, we opted to download and within a few minutes had the casino software up and running on our test computer.

Registration at Titan is straightforward and as stated in the introduction, one of the great things is that this casino is US friendly. Of course, players from around the world are welcome here although all play takes place using the US Dollar. This isn't a problem though with pretty much every eWallet or banking institution automatically carrying out currency conversions on a player's behalf.

Usually the first thing we have to do to get playing is to make a deposit. However, this isn't the case at Titan with a very welcome $7 no deposit bonus up for grabs for all players. This isn't a huge amount admittedly but is free money to test the casino nonetheless. This is definitely a good sign in our book – you have to think pretty highly of your product if you are going to let anyone play for free on it. Of course, the teasing $7 soon got us wanting more so we headed over to the cashier to make our first deposit.

Like most RTG-powered casinos Titan allows players to deposit using a number of methods. These include eWallets such as Money Booker, NeTeller and Eco Card as well as wire transfer and credit / debit card. The online support team are also available around the clock meaning should you run in to difficulties depositing, help is always on hand. We successfully made a $100 deposit in to our account without any issue at all.

All new players at Titan are welcome to claim a massive 400% bonus in addition to the free $7 sign-up offer. This allows players to claim up to $4000 in free cash and although the wagering conditions are pretty hefty, this free money can certainly help players towards hitting a jackpot or two. What's more, we liked the fact this isn't a slots only bonus – selected table games are also allowed as part of the game play.

Even if this first deposit and bonus doesn't end up in any winners, players are then entitled to claim up to $3000 on their second deposit! That means $7000 in free start-up cash, and with on-going bonuses also available it's clear to see Titan are working hard to make their casino number one when it comes to bonuses. The only thing to note is that, as with all bonuses, terms and conditions govern each bonus accepted. As such, any deposits are ‘locked in' until the wagering conditions are met.

Given we actually wanted to experience all the games Titan has to offer we actually decided to play without a bonus. It did mean we had less cash to play with but naturally also meant we could cash in at any time should we be lucky enough to hit big.

The casino lobby is a pretty standard affair with games grouped by type. However, some nice features are present such as the ‘volatility' rating on the slot games. This means players can decide whether to risk the lot on a highly-volatile slot or get extended play by going for a more low-volatility affair. Of course, with every game the play ultimately goes in the house's favour so don't think there's a game out there that'll make you long term cash!

One of the great things at Titan is that pretty much every game is available. Just taking the table section, for example, a player can find around 15 games covering everything from Roulette to Blackjack to War. It was the latter game we opted to play first. This simple-to-play card game sees a player trying to get a card dealt that is worth more than the dealer's. If the cards tie in point terms a player has the chance to lose their bet outright or to risk another bet in going to ‘war'. This is a quick-fire game but if a streak lands nicely profits can really be made quickly.

The same is true of Blackjack which we went to play next. This casino favourite can be played for between $1 and $100. This isn't the greatest betting range but should satisfy most players. It's fair to say though that this casino isn't really aimed at the very bit bettors – the War game for example has a maximum bet limit of just $20.

Having said that, the Video Poker games offer more of a chance to ‘risk it all' – the 100-hand games allow players the chance to stake $500 on a single game if betting maximum coins at the highest stake! We felt this was slightly out of our budget but we did have some fun playing on the lower-limit multi-hand games.

Titan, as with all RTG-powered casinos, has a superb range of Video Poker games to choose from. Pretty much any paytable can be found here from classics to way out versions such as Double, Double Jackpot and All-American. The only this we didn't like so much was that some of the games didn't have ‘full' pay tables. This means the house edge is increased and as such a player's money sadly won't last quite as long as it might elsewhere.

Of course, one of the big pulls for any RTG-powered casino is the slot selection. Casino Titan has a huge range of Video Slots and Classic-style machines. The Video Slots are great, offering players a variety of bonus games and chances to win a jackpot or two. The Reel Series games, for example, all have a Random Jackpot attached which climbs continually until it is hit. These can reach 5 figures and considering they can hit for any bet amount means players can really spin pennies in to a jackpot!

One of the games I really enjoyed was the Crystal Waters slot. This Video Slot has been around for a while now and is very volatile. However, this is because the bonus round can pay out big! If three or more bonus symbols (a yacht) land the player is awarded a set of free spins. However, a magic gold fish symbol can land on the central reel during these spins and not only is it wild but it can multiply wins by up to 8x! I recently turned a $5 spin in to around $1000 on this game, although sadly on this occasion I failed to even hit the triggering combination!

I was luckier on the Aztec's Treasure game where I triggered the bonus on just the 5th spin! Sadly the 5 free games awarded really didn't do much for me, although I suppose a win is a win – better than a loss certainly!

The common theme with all the games at Titan is that the game presentation is excellent. The graphics are sharp and with sound effects adding to the overall experience. The player interface is also very neat with each game a doddle to get the hang of. What's more, many aspects of the casino are user configurable meaning things like card speed can be configured to precise requirements – nice to have a casino playing exactly as you want it!

Sadly my luck on this occasion was pretty rubbish, although I suppose that's gambling for you. I have, however, experienced payouts from the owners of this casino previously. This casino does pay, but players should note the T&Cs do allow the casino up to 10 business days to complete a withdrawal request. This, in my opinion, is a bit much given it means half a month could pass before funds are returned to the player. The other thing to note is that this casino does enforce pay-cycle caps meaning big wins could take a while to completely pay out. However, this casino does pay and for US players in particular this is an important consideration.

Somewhat better is the support offering at Titan with 24-hour support offered via telephone, email and live-chat. The toll free numbers are slightly limited (mainly US-focussed) but with round-the-clock live chat on call it means player problems can usually be resolved quickly and easily.

In summary Titan certainly has some good things going for it. A great game selection is available with many of the games making use of quality graphics and sound effects to give players a great online experience. The support offering is great and similarly banking works well. It's just a shame the casino has the 5-10 day pending period which will certainly put some people off. However, for those where choice is limited (such as in the USA), casinos such as Titan fill the void and offer a reasonably decent gaming experience.
