Bwin.party recently announced the establishment of a new social studio called Win Interactive. The new social gaming focus is Bwin.party’s way of coming up with something new and it is going about it in a serious way. The recent acquisition of selected assets of developers Orneon and Velasco services Inc. will give the firm a boost with software resources and social gaming contracts. Bwin.party intends to build a more stable platform from which to establish itself in the social gaming scene.

The company has committed to spending at least €40m or more to accomplish its goal over the next two years. The firm is anticipating a spend of an additional €5-10m to “secure meaningful market position.” The most recent arrangements are worth a combined €18m. The lineup of people in the top positions to make the new social gaming web site function like clockwork are as experienced as it gets. Barak Rabinowitz comes in to lead the pack after leaving the helm at Mytopia. The technology development unit will be manned byAlex Usach. Former Electronic Arts employee Dan Matkowski will take the role of lead game producer. Tilli Kalisky is head of publishing and Dennis Hetterma will lead prototype development.

Win Interactive plans to release new applications for sports betting, casino gaming, poker and bingo. Bwin.party has a lot of irons in the fire but is still experiencing flat financial results. The news of Bwin.party’s plans saw its stock slide by 2.5% recently. May has been a rough ride for shareholders, of Bwin.party who watched as the stock lost almost a quarter of its value since closing on May 4. The investors will be bolstered by the news that Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein district has granted Bwin.party a license to operate, the launch of live casino action in Italy, and the path to riches in Spain after they settled their tax bill in that market.
