Online Casino Gambling Will Return to PokerStars Spain

The new and very competent owners of PokerStars the largest poker room in the world Amaya has been attempting to build the brand with the offering of blackjack and roulette games in the Spanish jurisdiction. It announced last July that Pokerstars’ Spanish subsidiary was awarded licences to offer additional games via the Pokerstars.es domain. Amaya Gaming chief executive officer David Baazov said that games would be added to both PokerStars and the Full Tilt brands to help expand services.

Baazov said in June “With the continuing trend of online gaming regulation around the world, the company has in front of itself an enormous opportunity to leverage its brand recognition and customer loyalty to diversify into other gaming verticals as casino, sports betting and social gaming,”

The offering however has had some real time technical issues that have caused a disruption in the offering. Players in Spain reported being unable to access their blackjack and roulette game history direct from the room’s client. This is a requirement  by Spain’s regulators with Amaya explaining the problem as a “minor technical issue” and thus withdrew the casino games from its site. A note from PokerStars.es read, “We are removing blackjack and roulette casino games from PokerStars.es,” continuing, “This is necessary for us to fix a minor technical issue where blackjack hand histories are not available to all players from directly within the software, as required by national law.” The note online added,  “The issue did not result in any negative impact on the playing experience nor the integrity of our games,”  “However, we are taking these steps to ensure our software is 100% compliant with relevant requirements. Blackjack and roulette will return as soon as possible, hopefully within a matter of weeks.” PokerStars also maintains that the minor technical issue does not have any effect on the integrity of the games on the Pokerstars 7 version platform.
