Sky Bet Adds Software For Online Gambling Safety

Sky Bet was formed in 2001 and today operates five major online businesses,Sky Bet, Sky Vegas & Sky Casino, Sky Poker, Sky Bingo and Oddschecker. Sky Bet, is headquartered in Leeds, England and is led by Sky Bet Managing Director Richard Flint. Just last December the firm sold a controlling stake in its online betting and gaming business, to CVC Capital Partners in a deal which valued Sky Bet at £800 million.  CVC is one of the world's leading private equity and investment advisory firms. Founded in 1981, CVC today has a network of more than 20 offices and over 300 employees throughout Europe, Asia and US.

Now Sky Betting and Gaming has become the first online gambling operator to launch the use of the global identity transaction monitoring software from identity intelligence specialist GBGroup. The GBGroup combines individual identity data with technology to provide clients with the identity intelligence needed for a safe environment for consumers and operators.

With extensive monitoring of the actions of players Sky Bet will benefit by combating fraudulent credit card use and those financial transactions linked to money laundering which is the same software employed by the financial services sector globally.

GBGroup’s  Head of gaming Peter Murray commented, “Sky Bet have long been recognised that robust security checks ensure they know exactly who is participating in their virtual arena and they look to leave no room for error,” Murray continued to add, “The key challenge is to distinguish between fraudulent and ‘good' gamers, VIPs or problem gambling and Sky Bet is at the forefront of online companies looking to take responsibility for ensuring they support and facilitate ethical gaming.” “GBGroup's software can go a long way to help this process.”

Richard Flint, managing director at Sky Bet also said, “GBGroup's technology allows us to take our trusted relationship with our customers one step further.”
