Online Gambling Industry Problems Mounting

Online gambling is being talked about everywhere these days around the world there are conversations pertaining to internet betting in all its forms. The young people are the most disinterested in gambling in the traditional ways. They are talking about esports betting and skins. The gambling industry recognizes that the young demographic is one of the most lucrative markets that is also most difficult to attract. Youth today are smart after all they all have smart phones of one brand or another and have embraced the technology most directly. Everyone knows that being wired is old school and the world has become digitized and mobile.

In the online gambling news the operators are going through more disturbing problems other than the inability to bridge the culture gap in age there is the moral dilemma, political uncertainty, legal and jurisdictional issues. It is amazing that anyone would venture into the online gambling industry knowing the business of supplying online gambling services is complicated and vulnerable to disruption.

There are constant crack downs on every aspect of the internet betting industry in almost all parts of the planet. Protests from the opposition Workers Party in Singapore saying the Government should  “reject” applications for online betting services is another example of the difficult time online betting service providers have staying legal and popular.

The Party’s Assistant Secretary-General Pritam Singh commented, “When the government decided to clamp down on remote gambling in 2014, it cited concerns about addictive behaviour and easy access to these games. Should the Government approve their applications, Singapore Pools and STC will have 24/7 virtual betting outlets available in almost every home and mobile device,”

The Remote Gambling Act came into effect in 2104 in Singapore and it prohibits remote gambling via websites, phones or smart devices so the application process does seem like a reversal of fortunes for someone.
