Slots Galore Review

UPDATE: - THIS CASINO HAS CLOSED DOWN............ Slots Galore is one of the newer casinos owned and operated by the English Harbour Group. This casino group has been operating for a number of years online and so when this Vegas Technology-powered casino opened up we couldn’t wait to give it a whirl.

Slots Galore operates via both a no-download and a download user interface. However, it is the latter that I decided to play on, mainly because once it’s set up on your computer it’s really easy to get playing again. The flash version is great for one-off play but if you want the full range of games and features and are able to install software on tour machine I’d definitely suggest going for the download version of this casino.

The download and installation process is pretty straight forward with a player simply needing to visit the Slots Galore website to obtain the download file. At just over 3mb this download shouldn’t cause problems for players and within a few minutes the software had installed and updated itself on my computer.

New account creation is also a simple affair with a standard form to capture a player’s new details. One of the positive things about Slots Galore is that they accept the majority of US players. However, other players across the global can sign up, although the fact this casino uses the US Dollar currency shows quite clearly the focus is on attracting US players.

Depositing is also straight forward and Slots Galore has worked hard to ensure players can deposit regardless of where they are physically located. I purchased chips with a Visa debit card although a variety of other methods of deposit are available including other credit cards along with a variety of e-wallets. Bank wire deposits are also accepted although players should note these take 2-5 days to credit on an account.

New players that enjoy more bang for their buck will be pleased to note that a massive $1000 first deposit match (100% dollar-for-dollar) can be claimed. This is certainly one of the biggest one-off bonuses I’ve ever seen, although of course free gifts like this come with hefty wagering conditions. This means a player must gamble a set amount of money before any withdrawal requests will be honoured. There’s also a VIP play loyalty programme as well as a number of on-going promotions. At the time of playing a March Madness slots tournament was boasting a prize pool of a massive $300,000.

Game selection at Slots Galore is made easy thanks to the in-lobby menu system that breaks down game by type. Set against a brightly-coloured background the lobby is an attractive affair and I was happy to note that even though they are appealing to the American market, this casino hasn’t gone overboard with flashing animation and garish graphics.

To begin my play I firstly checked out the table games. These generally accept bets of just $1 or so, although high rollers will be pleased to know a few hundred can be bet on games like Blackjack. A decent selection is available also with casino mainstays such as Baccarat, Blackjack and Roulette all available. I had quite a lot of fun playing at the Red Dog table and was pleasantly surprised when a $10 returned $50 after I was successfully a winning Jack card between the previously dealt 10-King spread.

In terms of game presentation the table games are all played against a rich Red backdrop which certainly adds a feeling of class to proceedings. I also liked the fact the cards themselves were very clear making it almost impossible for players to misread a playing situation. Sound effects and animations are also there making game play thoroughly entertaining. Of course, winning also helps and I was pleased to walk away from the table games slightly up on my starting deposit.

The Video Poker games I tried out were also fun, particularly the crazy 100-hand Deuces Wild game. This game seems a player bet on 100 hands at once and although extremely volatile, it can be hugely rewarding when the right cards land. Just imagine getting dealt a few Deuces on the starting deal – players are pretty much assured of a hefty payout before they’ve even hit the redeal button!

Sadly this is the only really big multi-hand game available. All the other games play across 1, 2, 3 or 4 hands and although good don’t really offer the thrill of the mega-hand games. Nevertheless, those that are occasional or even semi-regular VP players should still be satisfied and a decent selection of machines and pay tables can be found. The Double Joker single-hand game proved pretty lucky for me with the 2 wild jokers making regular appearances to boost my winnings. Of course, the elusive Royal Flush was notable by its absence… when will I hit that beast?!

Of course, a visit to Slots Galore wouldn’t be complete without checking after the slot games from which this casino gets its name. A good selection of machines are available ranging from simple three-reel games to complex video slots with a host of bonus games. These video games have become a real draw for gamblers in recent years and the anticipation of the big bonus win keeps players coming back time and time again.

I myself can get easily hooked on that buzz and indeed at Slots Galore spent far more time than I should have playing on the slot games. On this occasion the Treasure Trail game got a fair few of my dollars as I searched for that jackpot win. Although since this is a progressive game and given the jackpot stood at over $400,000 at the time of playing hopefully I can be forgiven! I didn’t hit the jackpot this time but a few decent wins along the way kept me satisfied.

I also had fun playing a few of the video slots. The Fat Cat video slot with its cartoony graphics was pretty good fun and the theme just seemed to generally appeal to me. For the more grown up part of me Bangkok Nights also grabbed my attention although it became frustrating as I kept falling one short of the required number of symbols to activate the bonus round!

The only issue I had during my play was that some of the games seemed prone to giving error messages. From my technical background I could see that the JavaScript these games relied on was failing but sadly there was little I could do to fix the issue. Thankfully the games updated themselves a few days after my first attempt to play and the problem was resolved. This did leave a slight sour taste in my mouth, however, and I think casinos this big should test more thoroughly their games before release. Apart from this though I did have a lot of fun on the Slots Galore slots and some of the games such as the 7-reel Farming Future games are unlike any I have seen elsewhere online.

Disappointingly on this occasion I ended up with nothing to cash-in. I have withdrawn before from this group though and although scans of ID and other documents are required before any withdrawal will be honoured, all cash-ins are paid. Players should note though this can take up to a week and although not terrible is certainly not the fastest payout speed available.

In terms of Slots Galore support this is offered via email, telephone and live chat. However, the telephone option is only free for US players – all others need to dial an international number. This is a disappointment although the live chat facility does mean free instant help is available for other players. Support is always important and although many players will never need help, it’s good to know people are there if things do go wrong.

In conclusion my play at Slots Galore was pretty decent. This isn’t a leading edge casino but it does offer a good selection of games each of which is well presented. The slot errors were slightly annoying and suggests a bit more testing should be done before new games are released. However, generally this is a stable casino which certainly offers a fair level of entertainment. Cash processing is solid and particularly for US players this is important. Similarly support is responsive and adds a strong backbone to the overall running of the casino. For those looking for a decent sign-up bonus or even just a change of scenery, this casino from the well respected English Harbour group could certainly fit the bill.
