Aladdin's Gold Casino
Aladdin's Gold Casino has been operating since 2004 and it continues to attract new customers thanks in part to its decision to continue allowing US players to bet there. The fact this casino operates on the tried and tested Real Time Gaming platform also serves as an attraction factor for many people and as such we decided to give this casino the Online-Casinos.com onceover.
Those familiar with Real Time Gaming software will be used to the download and installation procedure that needs to be carried out before play can commence. Although having said that a no-download version of the casino is available – this though doesn't offer the full set of games.
Account creation is a similarly quick and easy process and an in-software form is used to capture a new player's details. All play at Aladdin's Gold takes place using the US dollar currency and although this is understandable, I do think casinos should offer a variety of currencies given the global appeal of casino play. Nevertheless this isn't a major problem and within a couple of minutes my OnlineCasinos account was setup and ready to go.
Aladdin's Gold were not offering any free chip promotions at the time of playing and so the first thing I had to do was make a purchase at the cashier. The casino cashier is easy to get to and the easy-to-use lobby makes it simple for a player to advance around the casino. The usual selection of e-wallet and 'real world' deposit options (credit card etc.) are available and I used NeTeller to buy-in for $100. I chose on this occasion not to use a deposit bonus voucher but new players are able to collect up to $900 in free chips on their first three deposits. Ongoing promotions are also meaty at this casino with regular offers such as 50% match deposits coming with wagering conditions of just 15 times bonus and deposit.
With my account loaded and ready for action the next thing I had to do was choose a game to play on. Hundreds of games are available at Aladdin's and so thankfully a menu system has been installed in the lobby to make game selection easier. This means that Video Poker players need only check out the Video Poker menu to find the games they like and similarly table-hogs like me can head on over to the Table part of the menu.
Actually though, on this occasion it was the Video Poker games that I decided to begin my play with. As with all the RTG-powered casinos, the VP selection at Aladdin's is immense with a huge number of Video Poker varieties on offer. These range from standards such as Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild to more obscure games such as Mystery Hand Poker and All American Poker. Multi-hand players will also love Aladdin's since pretty much every variety of game is offered in 1, 3, 10 and 52-hand versions. The only games missing are 100-hand types but despite this I was still impressed with the overall Video Poker Selection.
Sadly I wasn't so impressed with the graphics used in these games. Although the rest of the casino demonstrates a high level of design with superb graphics and sound effects complementing the speedy game play, the VP games for me are just a little dated in their look and feel. I suppose though it's hard to make Video Poker ultra attractive from a design point and of course this doesn't really affect the game play.
In terms of games I specifically tried, I had a lot of fun playing 7s wild 10-handed. This game is like Decues Wild except on this game it's the 7s that stand in for any card. On one hand I was dealt two threes and two sevens meaning I already had 10 4-of-a-kind hands before even re-drawing. I do like it when those big winners just drop in! The same was true when I played 52-hand Jacks or Better – a straight dropped in from the off meaning every hand saw me quadruple my bet.
After hanging around the Video Poker part of the casino for 30 minutes or so I next decided to try my luck on the slots. As with all RTG-powered casinos, Aladdin's Gold offers a wealth of options for the slots player with many games offering progressive random jackpots. These jackpots are awarded at random at the end of a spin and can climb to some impressive figures. I've seen screenshots before of a person winning a $10,000 random prize after betting just $0.25 – how sweet is that!
I had particular look playing one of my favourites, Honey to the Bee. With 3 wild symbols appearing on the first three reels I was able to win over $55 on just one $2 spin. Although this isn't huge, it was enough to keep me playing for a few minutes longer and as you will know, playing for hours on just one deposit is certainly a good feeling!
Sadly my initial luck ran out and so by the time I hit the table games I only had around $50 remaining. This was still enough to give me some table action though and again with a decent range of games available it was perhaps a good thing I still had a reasonable bank balance left to play with. Aladdin's Gold offers the standard set of games such as Blackjack and Roulette but has also developed a set of more unusual games such as Casino Hold'em and Caribbean Draw Poker. These latter games are definitely fun to play and it's nice to see a casino that's continuing to be innovative with its game selection.
The only thing I found odd with the table games is that the betting limits were very small. Blackjack, for instance, allowed maximum bets of just $25. However, as I have continued to play at this casino I have seen my betting limits rise. Just recently after returning some faxback forms my BJ limit now stands at $250. I have always known that RTG-powered casinos can set limits on a per player basis but I have never really seen it implemented. I guess Aladdin's Gold do use this functionality, perhaps as a security measure? Players should just note that within the first few days of holding an account table limits may be on the low side.
Unfortunately after making a couple of large Blackjack bets in an attempt to make a quick profit (which unsurprisingly lost!) I didn't have anything to withdraw on this occasion. However, I've continued to play at this casino and in subsequent sessions have found withdrawals are usually processed within 24-48 hours. Faxback forms need to completed before an initial withdrawal is processed. After that though things run pretty smoothly and as long as players can hold off reversing their withdrawals for a day or 2, players should be able to get their funds out without a problem. On one occasion I withdrew $450 and the finance function of the casino returned the funds to my MoneyBookers account without issue.
When it comes to customer support, help is available from both the casino website and also from within the software itself. Support personnel are accessible via email, live chat, web-email form and telephone. This is a great plus for this casino and shows how much they value players. Too many casinos are lacking on this front so it's good to find a casino ready to offer a helping hand if needed. I tested out live-chat support and found the person I spoke with (Jaye) both helpful and courteous. An email I sent containing my faxback information was also responded to within less than an hour of sending – again a definite plus. Although players tend to choose a casino on games offered and overall look and feel, the support side of a casino's offering should never be overlooked.
In conclusion I was impressed with what Aladdin's Gold had to offer and can see why it continues to attract new players. A good set of games are available and although some need to be spruced up a little, generally the look and feel of the casino is good. Decent graphics and sound effects combine with slick game play to make overall gaming very entertaining. I was impressed with this casinos sign-up and on-going promotions scheme and found that if you win it's pretty easy to get your money out. A huge plus also comes in the form of the support function offered by this casino – a number of contact methods are available and support personnel are polite and helpful. Overall there really is little to fault. The betting limits, particularly at outset are on the low side, but generally there's a lot to be said for betting with Aladdin's. Certainly it's continuing to keep my attention. Certainly this is one I'd say add you 'give it a go' list!
