IMPORTANT REVIEW UPDATE: The owner of UK Casino Club has gone into liquidation - read more here Online-Casinos.com and this review will be updated as soon as we know more about what happens to the casino and it's customers. I am convinced that all affected players will be paid the money they have in their accounts (perhaps by the software provider Microgaming). I also predict that another group will take over the affected online casinos and poker rooms as this group has always had a good reputation among players. Obviously it is not possible to play at these casinos and poker rooms at the moment.Casinos are supposed to be pretty snazzy, up-market places. And for me, nothing quite brings home the feeling of grandeur as all things 'British'... the flag, the queen, Big Ben - all would lend a regal air to any casino using this theme. As such, I can fully understand the thinking behind the theme of Microgaming-powered UK Casino Club. Funnily though, I actually hadn't checked out this online casino before, so I decided it was time for another review.
UK Casino Club is a member of the Casino Action group of casinos, and as with all their Microgaming-powered properties, this online casino can be played both via the flash no-download interface as well as the 'bells and whistles' software download. It is this download version that I opted for, and after a few minutes I had obtained the 6.1mb software.
Installation is simple, and within a few minutes of the installer doing its stuff the casino is up and running. Of course, a casino as posh as this one couldn't run on just a 6.1mb download. As such, once the casino lobby's loaded the various games available carried on downloading in the background.
Having said that, a player cannot actually do anything with the casino until they have registered a new account. The standard form common to the majority of Microgaming-powered casinos is used to capture a player's details. Although this is a UK-themed casino, the home page actually talks about US $ and it was a US $-denominated account that I created. However, UK £ can be used for play, along with Euros and Canadian Dollars.
New players at UK Casino Club are enticed into depositing through the offering of a sign-up bonus. The bonus at the time of playing was a 50% bonus, which offered up to $125 free. Actually though, I decided not to accept the bonus on this occasion - I wanted to be able to cash in early if I hit a big win!
As such, it was the cashier that I visited next. As an online player would expect, a vast number of deposit options are available, which include a number of e-wallet solutions. Having said that, it was actually a credit card that I used to make my purchase. I deposited $100, with the transaction going through without problem.
Usually, my reviews tend to by pretty formulaic. Readers of Online-Casinos.com will know that I tend to play table games followed by a dabble on the video poker and slot machines. However, on this occasion I decided to start my play on the slot games.
While that plan seems perfectly simply, the fact that UK Casino Club has over 200 games makes things slightly more difficult! Thankfully though, this casino utilizes a menu system on the lobby to break things down by type. There are even submenus to break games down even further. For example, slots are broken down by type and even by the number of pay lines. This really is great for finding a specific game.
The first game I decided to play was Pollen Nation. Pollen Nation is a video game that uses bright graphics themed around bees and the bee hive. Line up the wild Queen Bees and a player will be in for a very nice pay off! The thing that I really like about this game though is the cool bonus round where a player is able to keep picking prizes from the 'bee hive' until a 'stop' sign appear. I was fortunate enough to activate this relatively early on during my playing session. The 12,250-coin pay off (equal to $122.50) boosted my bankroll up to $167.60 - a great start! Almost straight away after I also hit a $100 winner taking my bankroll up to a cool $238.20!
I also played some of the progressive slots available. This includes the cool Cash Splash game, which is a 'classic style' three-reel, single pay line slot. The slot costs $3 per spin, but with jackpots in the past having hit for hundreds of thousands of dollars I can see the appeal! I actually did pretty well on this slot, and managed to get a handful of winners in quick succession. Even with just $20 or $30 winners, if you get a few in a row it can seriously increase a player's bankroll!
In fact, through playing on a variety of slots I managed to get my bankroll up to the $500 mark! There actually wasn't a single big hit that contributed to this, apart from the cool Pollen Nation hits, but rather just a run of good luck; seeing my bankroll climb nicely!
I also had some good luck on the table games that I later played. This was mainly due to placing some big bets, but it sure felt nice to have the bankroll to support my bets unlike usual! I particularly enjoyed the Blackjack games available, of which there are a good number at UK Casino Club. This casino has set up tables that play according to various 'real world' rules. As such, if European Blackjack's your thing, then simply sit at the Euro BJ table. Similarly, Vegas Downtown odds may take your fancy, and a game of this type can be found too! A really cool thing is that the minimum bet at the blackjack table is just $0.50. High rollers though will appreciate the $500 maximum.
Of course, some of the more obscure table games are available also, and I had fun playing Caribbean Stud Poker, Sic Bo and Poker Pursuit. I actually had a great start on one round of Poker Pursuit - I was dealt three kings! This meant I could raise all the way, but I also was adamant that the fourth king was going to appear! Unfortunately this wasn't the case, but this game really can be exciting when the right cards start to fall!
At this point, I should mention that pretty much all of the table games available utilizethe very best in graphics and sound effects to enhance the overall game play for the player. Furthermore, many of the display and sound effect options are user-configurable, meaning a player really can set the casino up how they like it. Add to this the 'expert' function built in to most games (that auto-plays or helps a player make the best play) and it's easy to see why this online casino is so popular.
The final area of the casino for me to comment on is the Video Poker section, and as with the rest of the casino, the selection of games available is immense. Not only are a good variety of different games available, but also a number of multi-hand versions of each game. For example, Jacks or Better can be played over 1, 4, 10, 50 or even 100 hands!
I actually had some luck with Deuces Wild Power Poker game, where I was initial deal 4-of-a-kind over all 4 hands. One of these then converted to a 5-of-a-kind and so for a $20 bet I won $190!
I also played on some of the other games such as Jacks or Better 100-hand. Unfortunately though, I didn't have any more great hits. Nevertheless, I certainly had fun! The speed of game play is excellent, and I really could have carried on playing for hours. With my bankroll starting to disappear though, I decided it was time to cash in the $400 I currently had left.
Making a withdrawal at UK Casino Club is easy and all I had to do was visit the cashier to request the cash-in. UK Casino Club is eCOGRA recognized, and as such players should have full confidence with this casino when it comes to cashing in. Indeed, after the pending period had expired I found that my own cash-in was processed completely within around 48 hours after the pending period had expired. This is definitely pleasing, and in my book is always a sign of a good casino.
During my play at UK Casino Club I actually didn't have the need to contact the customer support team. However, support is offered around the clock via email and live chat. There's also a web form available for those that don't want to write a full email. While this is fine, I did think it a little poor that no telephone support is available. I suppose though, that live chat support is available for instant help. Nevertheless, I do think this is an area for improvement.
In conclusion though, despite the slight disappointment with the support availability, I was generally very impressed with UK Casino Club. A great number of games are available and these are presented in the highest quality, thanks to the use of Microgaming-powered software. The finance function works well, and there's a nice bonus to entice new players. Finally, the theme itself is sleek and appealing. For those looking for something a little different to the run-of-the-mill Microgaming-powered casino, I think UK Casino Club could hit the spot.
