888 A Sought After Online Casino Courted by Playtech

Consolidation has become a process many online gambling operators are moving forward on with mixed results. The company 888 Holdings which operates the 888 Casino brand and has been at the forefront of the online gaming industry for over ten years, gives both players and B2B partners a world-class gaming experience.
888’s consumer facing websites offer more than just online gaming. The web sites are entertainment destinations, where people can have a real interactive experience and be part of an online community that shares many common interests.
888 is licensed and regulated by the Government of Gibraltar, where the firm is headquartered.
Speculation has been made as to how much the company is really worth. The company’s value has diminished considerably over the years with 888's market cap price at about ₤169 million today.
According to a recent report published in the Israeli financial daily, Calcalist, online casino software maker Playtech Ltd. has come to the table with an offer of an estimated ₤200 million. Playtech's Teddy Sagi made the generous offer for the 888 business that has been courting offers for along time now.

There have been numerous offers for more generous amounts. The U.K. book maker Ladbrokes recently tried it’s hand at acquiring 888 with a ₤240 million offer.
888 is keeping it’s cards well hidden as offers keep falling by the way side, some that seem fair and others that don’t justify the time it takes to negotiate.
Online gambling firms are consolidating rapidly to solidify their grasp on market share.
The 2008 merger, between Playtech the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming software supplier and online book maker William Hill, has proved to be very beneficial for both firms.
Partygaming and bwin Interactive are also amalgamating to form a giant online gambling operator, the size of which the internet wagering world has never experienced before. Playtech may want 888 because it may be useful in the possible reopening of the gambling industry in New Jersey USA.
