FremantleMedia Scales Up Gambling Division

FremantleMedia, a leading creator and producer of entertainment brands has announced
Simon Murphy will head up the gambling division, which will now be integrated into FremantleMedia Enterprises the company’s commercial brand extension arm.
The gambling division was originally part of the ventures division with Paul Kanareck initiating the start up back in 2008.
The growing success of the sector has moved the firm to give the division a place within the context of the company’s commercial brands and invest in expanding the operations.

Mel Alcock, Chief Executive Officer  EMEA, FremantleMedia Enterprises, commented on the move, “Now that the business is of sufficient scale, we believe it is ready to be integrated within FremantleMedia Enterprises which is the main commercial brand extension arm of FremantleMedia,”Mr. Alcock continued,  “We look forward to combining Simon’s experience and our expertise in extending major brands into cross platform entertainment.”

Simon Murphy has more than eight years experience in the gambling industry. Murphy’s extensive experience includes being head of business development at IGT’s WagerWorks and commercial director at IGT’s Million-2-1. Since October of 2010 Murphy has been the gaming business development manager for the FremantleMedia team. 
The Head of FremantleMedia Ventures, Paul Kanareck, also commented on the appointment of Murphy to the gambling division, “FremantleMedia has managed to build significant share in this exciting market in a very short period of time,” Kanareck added, “Simon’s appointment signals our ambition to grow this business even further and become the leading supplier of branded content to premium operators across multiple channels.”
