Fiore Holds Extensive Experience in Responsible Gaming Industry

The U.S. division of increasingly popular sportsbook supplier PointsBet has announced that it has appointed Teresa Fiore as the new manager of its responsible service of gambling and corporate social responsibility programs.

Fiore now joins the sportsbook operator after spending nearly five years working in the responsible gambling industry, even having worked with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for a brief stint.

While working with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Fiore was in charge of the state’s GameSense responsible gaming program, which serves over 300,000 players each year across three land-based casinos across The Bay State.

Before her time at the Massachusetts regulator, Fiore worked at Envirosell, which is a research and consulting business specializing in analyzing retail and service environments. Her role’s focus at Envirosell was on quantitative and qualitative consumer insights projects, data analysis, and strategic oversight.

As Sports Betting Grows, Safer Gambling Measures are Critical, Says Fiore

In her statement on joining sportsbook provider PointsBet, Teresa Fiore emphasized how the need for safe and responsible gambling practices is more crucial than ever, in view of the increasing popularity and presence of sports betting in the United States.

“I am delighted to have joined PointsBet and welcome the opportunity to continuously find ways to innovate within the responsible gambling space. With the rapid emergence of legalized sports betting, attention to safe and sustainable business practices is critical. Driving this work is a holistic view of the player, which will be used to ensure that messaging and safeguards are seamlessly integrated throughout the entire player journey.”Teresa Fiore, Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) & Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, PointsBet USA

On the executive end, chief executive of the U.S. branch of PointsBet Johnny Aitken praised Fiore’s strong experience and understanding of best practices, seeing them as a boon to the company’s future operations:

“We are excited to now take a further step in responsible gambling, adding a great talent in Teresa to the PointsBet team. Her understanding of the current landscape, knowledge of best practices, and US industry experience will be of great benefit to the company as we continue to realize the growing sports betting opportunity.”

What Is PointsBet? A Short Background

For some brief context on sportsbook provider PointsBet: it is one of the most rapidly growing iGaming operators currently active in the United States, constantly looking to widen its presence in the country by

“bringing its best-in-class proprietary technology, modernized and premium brand mentality, expert trading practices, and proven growth marketing strategies to the burgeoning sports betting markets of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and New Jersey.”

Originating from Australia, PointsBet distinguishes itself as an iGaming operator by running a fast and user-friendly application available on the iOS and Android stores, while simultaneously offering the best content and overall experience for players.

Furthermore, it is the single U.S. sportsbook offering its proprietary PointsBetting service, “a unique and innovative way to bet,” while covering almost all major American sports markets, such as the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL.

PointsBet Prepares Expansion into Canada with New CCO

However it is not only the United States which PointsBet is attempting to expand into: it announced earlier in June 2021 that it had appointed Nic Sulsky as its new chief commercial officer responsible for the company’s forthcoming Canadian operations.

Former president of fantasy sports operator Monkey Knife Fight, Sulsky joined Colorado-based operator PointsBet USA as it prepares to begin offering its sports betting services to the United States’ neighbor up north.

Before leading operations at Monkey Knife Fight, Nic Sulsky helped found InGamer — an in-game fantasy sports platform that launched alongside CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada in 2010.

Sulsky is PointsBet’s first major senior hire for the Canadian market, symbolizing a significant step towards the sportsbook implementing its strategy of establishing a leadership team in Canada in preparation for eventually offering sports betting in the country.

Commenting on his new role as Canadian Chief Commercial Officer at PointsBet, Sulsky shared:

“I’m thrilled to be joining PointsBet. This is an international company embracing what it means to be Canadian, and its commitment to providing a made-in-Canada platform for Canadian fans was the deciding factor for me in taking on this role.”

WNBA Recently Took On PointsBet as Official Betting Partner

Meanwhile, sportsbook provider PointsBet became the official betting partner for the United States’ Women’s National Basketball Association in May 2021, following major interest in the women’s sporting league over the past 12 months.

With PointsBet now being its only recognized and authorized gaming partner in the Asia & Oceania region, the Australian-based bookmaker will integrate the entire WNBA game schedule into its sportsbook offering, providing Australian customers with access to a large range of markets with competitive odds.

With women’s sports skyrocketing in popularity around the world, both PointsBet and the U.S. Women’s National Basketball Association have also taken the partnership as an opportunity to work together to protect the integrity of the sport and promote a culture where corruption and match-fixing are swiftly acted against.
