Grosvenor signs Sponsorship Deal with Fulham Football Club

Grosvenor Casinos has agreed a deal with a Fulham Football Club to become its main team partner. The two-year deal covers shirt sponsorship for both the first team and PL2 match day kits as well as designation as the club’s official betting partner.

Fulham wore their new Adidas home kit, bearing the Grosvenor Casinos logo, for the first time against Wolfsburg in a pre-season friendly in South West London last week. The casino chain’s branding will also feature heavily around Craven Cottage on a pitch-side LED system. There will also be exclusive branding at the Putney End stand. The club’s social media feeds will also promote Grosvenor products as part of the deal.

Grosvenor, which is owned by The Rank Group, operates more than 56 land-based casinos across the country, as well as an extensive online casino, sports betting and poker operation. The deal follows several recent agreements between SkyBet Championship clubs and gambling companies including Norwich City’s deal with LeoVegas.

We are thrilled to have a partner on board which matches our ambition of delivering a first-class service and experience and we look forward to working together. Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of Fulham FC

Henry Birch, Chief Executive of The Rank Group, which owns of grosvenorcasinos.com, said: “Grosvenorcasinos.com is delighted to be part of Fulham FC’s charge back to the Premier League as Main Team Partner. Both the club and Grosvenor Casinos have strong brands and proud histories and we look forward to working together and supporting the club and fans.”

Financial details, as is more recently the case with these deals, have not been revealed. However, the sum is expected to be comfortably into six figures. Another London club, West Ham United received around £10 million for its deal with Betway casino, but plays in the Premier League. Another top-flight club, Stoke City, struck a deal worth £3.2 million with Bet365 in 2012.

Clubs in the UK are set to pocket a record £281.8million in shirt sponsorship for the upcoming 2017/18 season. Nine of the 20 clubs in England’s top flight now display the logos of gambling companies on their match day shirts. In the Sky Bet Championship, the picture is very similar. Burton Albion recently announced a deal with Tempobet, Leeds United landed a deal with 32Red at the beginning of the year, and Nottingham Forest signed with 888sport in May. Newcastle United, who were promoted back into the Premier League last season, recently signed a £24 million deal with Chinese-based online gambling company Fun88 in a record-breaking deal for the club.
