MyBet Online Gambling Operator Bets on Greece

The online gambling industry has many jurisdictions with many different rules that regulators have imposed. Greece has been a controversial area for regulated online gambling businesses with a call from the Remote Gambling Association and the European Gaming and Betting Association to have the European Commission look into the restrictive regulations back in 2013. Clive Hawkswood, RGA ‘s Chief Executive said back then, “The actions of the Greek State in first opening up and then closing down the online gambling market suggests that they are making decisions in the interests of OPAP rather than the citizens of Greece.”

Now Greece’s Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP) has conceded in a statement issued to Parliament that it is unable to perform the necessary monitoring of temporarily licensed Internet gambling firms operating in Greece. EEEP admitted that it is not able to check the 24 betting service suppliers as long as they have the temporary licensing status granted to them in 2012. Alternate Finance Minister Tryfon Alexiadis also said that the Greek state does not perform any kind of inspection on the suppliers’ servers, which are in fact located in countries outside the European Union.

Greece is making an attempt to open up the internet betting environment with the news that MyBet has secured a license which will give Greek players an opportunity to wager in the country. Punters will benefit from an extensive range of products, such as poker, casino games and sports wagering now from MyBet. The online gambling web location will be using Paysafe Greece to give players  immediate access to secure financial tools for deposits and withdrawals.

MyBet is a well known and respected gambling enterprise around Europe and is pleased it has acquired the sought after Greek A.F.M. possibly ushering in a new era for Greek online gambling, casino and sports betting fans.
