Genera Online Games Chosen By Norway's Norsk Tipping

Norsk Tipping AS is the national lottery in Norway, and is located in Hamar. The company offers a range of lottery, sports and instant games in the Norwegian market. Norsk Tipping is owned by the Norwegian government and administered by Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. According to Wikipedia, since Norsk Tipping opened for business in 1948, the idea has been that the profit from company’s operations would be distributed directly back to the Norwegian people. During 60 years of operation, Norsk Tipping has returned more than NOK 78 billion, in today’s value, to sports and culture sectors, and non-governmental organizations.

In recent news it was reported that gaming solutions provider Genera Networks has signed a three-year deal with Norsk Tipping to provide a number of games, in conjunction with its partners Microgaming and Play’n Go, for the state-owned gaming operator’s Multix interactive video terminals.
The three year deal with the option to extend the contract an additional year came about following a public procurement process, Norsk Tipping has chosen Genera Networks as a “preferred game provider” for the system. Tried and true “proven” online games, optimized for the Norwegian gaming machines market are to be supplied by the Genera company.
Genera Networks Chief Executive Officer, Jan Stocklassa, commented on the agreement, “We are very pleased to be chosen as a preferred game provider for Norsk Tipping,” Stocklassa, continued,  “It proves that it’s not about size in the regulated market, but about understanding the requirements of the lotteries and managing the process.”

Torbjørn Almlid, CEO of Norsk Tipping also commented, “This marks a new era for Norsk Tipping and Multix,” adding, “It is important for us to offer exciting and entertaining games that meet the expectations of customers playing Multix.
“We aim to continue our success with Multix and keep generating profits for good causes while minimizing problem gambling. Genera Networks’ dedication and knowledge bodes well for our future co-operation and we have high expectations for this partnership.”
