Club World Casino:
Club World Casino is powered by software from Real Time Gaming, and over the years has built up a decent reputation in the online casino world. Indeed, with a number of operators using RTG software falling by the wayside I was intrigued to discover what keeps players coming back to the Club World offering. As such, I decided it was time to have a play and to write another Online-Casinos.com review!
Club World is only playable via the download software interface, and as such a player must firstly click through the casino website to obtain the 427k installer. This seems like a small file to download, but it should be noted that further files are requested from the Internet once this program is up and running. For me on a broadband connection the download and installation of the casino took only a minute or so. Of course, for those on dial-up connections this installation process may take a little longer. Club World only needs to perform this download process once though, and as such future playing sessions should be pretty hassle-free for even those on the slowest of connections.
Once the casino is up and running a player is invited to register their details if they are new to the casino. Again, registration is a 'one off' procedure - once a player has created an account by entering their personal details this information is stored securely by the casino. I myself was new to Club World and as such had to create a new account; something I found very straightforward. It should be noted that while Club World is playable from locations across the globe, the currency of play is the US dollar. Having said that, Club World does operate sister casinos (e.g. Club World Casino.co.uk) that operate using other currencies.
Club World does offer a free play mode, but for the real fun of gambling a player should log in to the 'real' mode where real money deposits can be made, and similarly where real money winnings can be withdrawn! The cashier used by Club World is pretty standard, and a range of depositing options are available. These include the ever-popular online wallet options (e.g. NeTeller, Click2Pay and Fire Pay) as well as 'real world' options such as Credit Card. I personally opted to make a $100 NETeller deposit and was pleased that my transaction was instantly processed without hassle.
As a new player to Club World I was entitled to claim a deposit bonus, although I opted not to do this as I didn't want the burden of wagering requirements. However, for those that like free money Club World offers some great bonuses. At the time of playing slot players could claim a massive 100% bonus providing up to $350 free. Non-slot players could well be attracted by the 100% to $100 bonus also available. Of course, loyal players also like to be rewarded and at Club World a number of on-going promotions are available including a 10% deposit bonus as well as various bonus money competitions.
For me though, I just wanted to get gambling with my $100 - so I checked out the games menu to see what tempting options Club World have to offer. I have to say, that when it comes to games Club World really does offer a good selection. For example, I began my play with some Video Poker, and while classics such as Jacks or Better and 'All American' Poker can be found, so too can a variety of wild card games and games I have not even seen before. Mystery Poker certainly fits this bill, in which each round a certain combination of cards offers an enhanced payout. Should a player then hit this winning combination they then receive the enhanced payout! With many of the VP games also available in multi-hand versions (up to 100-hand versions are available!) there really should be something for everyone.
Unfortunately, while I really enjoyed the games that Club World had to offer and even got a few nice payouts (my balance increased around $70 while playing the Video Poker games), I have to say the graphics are perhaps not as good as I would have expected. Don't get me wrong - there really isn't anything wrong with the graphics used - but I did think the graphics were a little dull and dated. Nevertheless, as long as game play is smooth and I get an overall feeling of being entertained (which I certainly did), I'm usually pretty happy.
I got much the same feeling while playing some of the table games Club World has to offer. Again, a very good selection of games is available and along with classics such as Blackjack, a player can also find more diverse games such as Pai Gow Poker. However, when it comes to the graphics used I again found myself thinking a little more could have been achieved. There certainly is nothing wrong with the games available and indeed the speed of game play is excellent. I did just feel though that perhaps things could be fine tuned here and there to deliver a game that stands up to comparison to other sites. Of course, this is personal opinion though and I am sure some players will prefer the simpler presentation of games that Club World has to offer.
One thing I did fine very strange though was the very low betting limits employed by Club World. For example, the Blackjack game I played allowed betting on two spots at once (nothing wrong with that), but with a betting range per spot of $1-$10. This really is incredibly low and may well turn away some players that like to bet big once in a while. In fact, I did look in to this further and other online users seem to suggest that players can request increased limits once they have been a member for a while. However, for me I still found this all rather odd - although I guess it ensures a player's money goes further!
As well as a great selection of Video Poker and Table games, Club World also hosts a decent number of slot games. A good range of games are available, starting with simple three-reel slots and progressing to video slots some of which offer the opportunity to win massive progressive jackpots!
A good number of games are classed as 'Reel Series' games. These are all Video Slots, and although the graphics and themes vary from slot to slot, a number of common features are found throughout. For example, certain combinations of symbols trigger free spin features which can reward huge payouts. I activated the free spin feature on the Achilles game and my $2 bet rewarded a payout of just below $150!
These games also offer 'random jackpots' which really do make play entertaining. Regardless of the amount bet, these jackpots are available to any player and literally payout completely at random. With the total jackpot increasing constantly it really can be heart stopping to think that at any minute a jackpot could be awarded. Some of these have climbed to $10k or more - not a bad payout when the minimum bet on these games is just a few pennies!
I also played some of the 'classic style' games which can also be good for a decent payout. I've always had a fascination with the Sevens and Stripes game that's available within RTG casinos. I actually didn't too badly either - a few mixed bar wins saw my bankroll remain at a pretty steady level. Of course, it was tempting to keep playing away on these slot games, particularly since the graphics and sound effects used are pretty attractive. I actually managed to be restrained though, and so finished my playing session with a nice $241.05 account balance!
With a little profit sitting in my account the next thing I did was to initiate a withdrawal. Club World states that it can take a few business days for them to process a withdrawal. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that a cash-in I made on the evening of my playing session was actually sitting back in my NETeller account by the morning - this was less than 10 hours later! I think this really is great - clearly wherever possible Club World try and process withdrawals as fast as they can.
The final factor to consider when testing out a casino is the support offering. At Club World, this is an area the casino performs well in with support available via email, live chat, telephone and even snail-mail post. This is excellent and certainly scores well in my book. Similarly, the utilization of 7 toll-free numbers means many player should be able to phone the casino completely free of charge. Certainly it's a good sign of a casino when they don't mind you contacting them!
To conclude, I actually think Club World Casino is pretty decent. A good selection of games is available - in fact I think most players should remain entertained for a good amount of time here. Unfortunately, the casino is let down slightly by the slightly jaded look and feel of each game. However, the games I played were still entertaining which is certainly a key criteria. A good sign-up bonus is available and cash handling and support are both things this casino performs well in. It should be remembered that the low betting limits may annoy a high roller, but generally I would have no hesitation in recommending the Club World offering to a player looking for somewhere new to play.
