Key Facts:
- Luke Littler is out to retain his Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts title.
- Gerwyn Price is the competition’s most successful player.
- The competition’s entry criteria mean a 32-player competition features unfamiliar names.
The 2025 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts, one of the two remaining ‘majors’ ahead of the 2026 World Championship and one of the most prestigious tournaments on the darting calendar, will be played out during November.
On the line is a £150,000 winner’s prize and the Eric Bristow trophy, which currently resides on Luke Littler’s mantelpiece. It was the first ranking major won by the teenager who became World Champion six weeks later.
In 2020, Jose de Sousa overcame his treble-digit odds to claim the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts title. However, this tournament customarily falls to an established player. Winning the competition three times from seven appearances, Gerwyn Price has the best overall record.
Michael van Gerwen is also a three-time Grand Slam winner. The Dutch player will make his 17th appearance in the event this year. Gary Anderson and left-hander James Wade are others who will make their 17th appearance, albeit neither has taken this title.
A Broad Cross Section of Players
The Grand Slam of Darts is only a 32-player competition. Nevertheless, it will take 63 matches to declare a winner as the event starts with eight groups of four players. Following six matches, two players from each group will progress to the final 16 stage, which is played as a traditional knockout.

The Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts entry criteria is complicated. Finalists from PDC televised events over the previous 12 months are the first to be invited. The winners and/or runner-ups of the World Youth Championship, Women’s World Matchplay, PDC Development Tour, Challenge Tour, Women’s Series, Asian Championship and Continental Cup then join the field.
European Tour event winners who are not already in the lineup through any method listed above then received an invitation. Finally, the remainder of the field was drawn from the list of Players Championship winners, starting with the most successful.
Little-Known Names Get Big Prices
Resultantly, the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts features several lesser-known players. Most reside at the bottom of the betting lists produced by the UK’s licensed online betting sites. At 1,000/1, Lisa Ashton (Women’s Matchplay winner) is the rank outsider. Stefan Bellmont, the Continental Cup winner, is 500/1.
PDC Asian Championship runner-up Alexis Toylo and PDC World Youth Championship runner-up Jurjen van der Velde follow on odds of 400/1. Lukas Wenig, Karel Sedlacek and Alex Spellman can all be backed at 300/1.
Unsurprisingly, topping the betting at 2/1 is Luke Littler. Luke Humphries is offered at 5/1 odds, with Gerwyn Price (8/1) and the PDC World Youth Champion Gian van Veen (9/1) being the only other players quoted at single-digit prices. Josh Rock (12/1) and Michael van Gerwen (14/1) round out the top six in the betting.
Grand Slam of Darts Format
The Grand Slam of Darts format starts with a 32-player group stage. The four players in each group play one another in a round-robin format. Winners are the first to five legs (as matches are the best-of-nine).
Players are awarded two points for a win, and the top two point gatherers from each group will progress to the knockout stage. In the event of a tie in points, the player who advances to the knockout phase is determined by leg difference. If that is identical, the result of the match between the two tied players will count.
Second-round matches are a best-of-19-leg format, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals are all best-of-31-leg matches. Last year, Luke Littler defeated Martin Lukeman 16-3 in the final. Only Phil Taylor’s 16-2 victory over Scott Waites in 2009 was more convincing.
Grand Slam of Darts Dates and Venue
The Grand Slam of Darts takes place at the WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton, England, from Saturday, 8th November to Sunday, 16th November. UK and Irish fans can watch the action live on Sky Sports or stream the action on Now TV.
For those further afield, matches can be watched on PDCTV or its worldwide broadcast partners, including DAZN and Viaplay. The UK’s best online betting sites will have up-to-the-moment updates alongside live betting updates.
