Amaya Online Gambling Planned Expansion

The online sports betting industry is one of the largest sectors offered by online gambling operators. Now the largest online poker operation PokerStars owned by Canada’s Amaya Gaming has announced it will begin to give punters odds on sporting events. Last June the CEO of Amaya announced that there were plans to offer online casino, sports betting, and social gambling via the PokerStars web location. In December, PokerStars began offering online casino games and plans are in the works to launch a mobile casino and instant-play casino later this year. A sports book is the last of the major changes for the mega online gambling firm at least for now.

The PokerStars Sportsbook will be introduced in just a few of the global regulated markets with expansion plans extending its draw to the European and commercial designations. It was reported that the PokerStars casino offering has garnered ten percent of that sector in the Spanish jurisdiction which has only been up and running since October of last year so there is speculation that Spain will be the first area to receive online sports book services from Amaya’s PokerStars. A press release statement confirmed, “PokerStars saw a 30% cross-sell of casino table games to its active player base on PokerStars 7 in Spain, which was above expectations and represented a faster cross-sell ramp up than was experienced on Full Tilt despite table games being the only casino games available [on the PokerStars casino platform].”

The availability of casino games and soon a sports book with full services offered in one package appeals to online poker players who like one simple set up and easy access adding more variety on a secure well known gaming location.  The recent press release added that PokerStars deals approximately 700 hands every second every day, and hosts 3,500 tournaments, distributing $25 million in prize money each week.
