Online Fantasy Sports Betting Expanding With Help

The interest in fantasy sports online betting has taken off in different directions in the USA with some jurisdictions making the process illegal while others are approving. The new direction that a few entrepreneurs have taken is to provide a service that helps players with fantasy sports game management. The number of online fantasy sports management teams is getting huge due to the increased popularity of fantasy sports involvement.

Enter the Fantasy Sports Trade Association which is a Chicago, Illinois USA based trade group representing the fantasy sports industry, with almost 300 member companies listed on its web site in 2015. Members range from small start ups to large media corporations. FSTA was founded in 1998 and provides demographic data, annual conferences and collective action including lobbying to support the growth of fantasy sports leagues. The Fantasy Sports Trade Association estimates that nearly 57 million people in the U.S. and Canada played fantasy sports in 2015.

A study conducted by the FSTA in 2013 revealed there were 33.5 million players in the U.S. with the 2011 FSTA Study indicating 3.1 million people in Canada played fantasy sports. Participation has grown over 60 percent the past four years, up a great deal from a 2006 FSTA study which estimated 19.4 million people in the U.S. and Canada played fantasy sports.  Online fantasy sports is estimated to have a $3 to $4 billion annual economic impact on the sports industry.

The FSTA has been on the leading edge of the legal tension that has existed between fantasy sports companies and professional sports leagues and players associations over the rights to player profiles and statistics.

There are companies that specialize in providing expertise in implementation of fantasy systems for all sorts of online betting opportunities related to fantasy sports of all sorts. Founded in 1998 the FSTA has provided demographic data, and lobbying efforts to support the growth of fantasy sports leagues internationally.
