New products that facilitate online gambling are usually related to software enhancements but in the case of the new product from Apple it’s a hardware innovation. The Apple Watch is scheduled to launch today with the usual media attention that has this new Apple product on everyone’s radar. The Smartwatch will not be actually available for pick up at stores just those who managed to order a device earlier begin shipping today.

Apple's Retail Chief Angela Ahrendts estimated that the situation with the orders will continue through the month of May so it may be June before they are available in stores online or otherwise.Once the Apple Watch is in the hands of gamblers there will be a new and less cumbersome way of playing  the slots or a game of blackjack on one’s wrist.

Ladbrokes Australia and William Hill Sports have already announced that they will have apps ready for betting on the launch day of the Apple Watch. Taking the whole fantasy a step further it won’t be long before there are other operating systems that will be available on a watch. There could be live dealers and one tap monetary functions all in a tiny device on a person’s wrist.

Online gambling software developer Playtech and online gambling operator Unibet have just announced that both intend to launch sports betting applications for the new Apple Watch.

The Playtech app plan is to expand its omni-channel offering developed by a team of mobile developers who have worked on the recently introduced Android sports betting app.  Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, Mor Weizer commented that his company is “well ahead” of its competitors on the launch of the new development.

Online gambling operator Unibet has also developed a similar solution that will let its customers to keep themselves informed of the latest developments in sports. Ed Nicholson, Head of Unibet’s UK sportsbook marketing and product operations said their app would provide customers only with relevant content.
