R.Franco Purchases Big Part of Online Gambling's Mediatech

Spanish gambling operator Grupo R.Franco (R.Franco) has recently announced that it has  invested heavily in independent online gambling platform provider Mediatech Solutions. The firms have a prior working relationship, with Mediatech Solutions delivering R.Franco its Spanish online gambling platform, including integrating product suites from BetConstruct Evolution Gaming, NetEnt, Microgaming and NYX Gaming.

Mediatech Solutions offers premium software for online, retail gaming technology and operational services needs. Commercially and politically independent and totally focused on the core platform and operational services sector. The arrangements financial details have not been revealed for the move that will lead to the creation of a new omni-channel services entity. R Franco will integrate Mediatech’s Solutions IRIS platform and the portfolio of 1,500 games. R Franco, established a digital division just a year and a half ago, commented this deal will enable the new combined entity to become a “key player” in the world wide online gambling market.

Pedro Melendo, Chief Executive Officer at R Franco commented on the investment, “The acquisition of Mediatech provides us with a market-leading online platform and the opportunity to further expand the group’s digital footprint,” Melendo continued to add,  “The Spanish market will be transforming due to regulatory changes in the next few years and Franco’s ambition is to remain market leaders.”

Founder and chief executive officer of Mediatech Solutions, Jessica Ordovas, also commented on the purchase, “R Franco is one of the most respected suppliers in the world and we are excited about the opportunity to work with them.” Ordovas continued,  “Our omni-channel expertise is unparalleled and this agreement will allow us to continue our track record of success in Spain and beyond. This new joint team has already displayed its ability to innovate in the online space, and it is now extremely well positioned for omni-channel expansion in Spain, Europe, Latin America and Asia.” Mediatech will now be investing in its international operations to include offices in Belgrade, Serbia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
