If this game feels intensely familiar, it’s because we’ve seen its twin not once but twice before already. Not only is this essentially Le Bandit dressed up in some football gear, but Hacksaw already released a pretty much exact duplicate of this game under the title Le Football Fan.

We realise the temptation to cash in on World Cup hysteria is hard to ignore, and fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with this title. Still, perhaps just a little more differentiation would have been in order.

We’ve got the 6×5 grid with cluster pays that we see in almost all of Hacksaw’s Le titles. You’ll need at least five of those symbols grouped together to get a winning combination. The familiar Super Cascades then remove the winners and give you a chance at even more paying combinations.

The Marked Square comes into its own when a rainbow symbol lands. And then, as in many past iterations of this title, they reveal coins or clovers. Clovers are a tighter range of pay from 2x to 10x, while with the coins, you’re never sure what you’re getting, with payouts ranging from 2x all the way up to 500x.

The handy buckets then collect up everything on the grid, and we get a chance at new wins.

Higher paying symbols are tickets, a team scarf, a vuvuzela, a mug of beer, and a soccer ball. For the lower-paying symbols, Hacksaw has stuck with the ubiquitous 10 through Ace. Since this is a cluster mechanic, payouts range from five to a cluster all the way to 13+ in a cluster.

13 or more tens only gets you 30x, while 13+ of the soccer balls gets you 200x. The top payout on Le Hooligan is capped at 10,000x. Rabid fan Smokey is the wild symbol and can substitute for all other symbols.

There are also FS scatter symbols, in this case designated by a trophy. Land three of these, and we kick off the Luck of the Fan bonus round. We start with eight free spins.
