Betfred was founded nearly 60 years ago, and the record win smashes the biggest payout ever made by the British betting brand.

The horse racing fan, who has chosen to remain anonymous, opted to try his luck on the Mega Moolah slot, which has one of the biggest progressive jackpots.

The lucky player has also received an invitation to a Manchester United home game from the Betfred boss Fred Done.
