Key Facts:

  • Newly launched award is part of the multi-year partnership between Formula 1 and Allwyn
  • First winner will be presented at August’s Dutch Grand Prix
  • Allwyn is donating hundreds of thousands of euros for awards

Allwyn has a multi-year partnership with F1 and has now confirmed it will be launching the new F1 Allwyn Global Community Award.

Various initiatives are set to receive a €100,000 donation from Allwyn through the award.

Allwyn launched the award at the Austrian Grand Prix, but the first winner will not be announced until the Dutch Grand Prix, which takes place at the end of August.

A panel of three judges- made up of someone from Allwyn, Formula 1 and a local representative – are set to agree on each winner.

As well as the €100,000 donation from Allwyn, winners are set to get a trophy and a chance to visit a Formula 1 Grand Prix in the future.

Championing Positive Impact i

After the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix on 31 August, three more community awards are set to be handed out thanks to the new scheme.

Further awards will then be given out at a pair of Formula 1 races in the United States – at Austin and Las Vegas – as well as in Mexico.

Allwyn’s group chief executive, Robert Chvátal, said: “Championing positive impact is at the heart of what we do at Allwyn.”

“Our partnership with Formula 1 is the perfect chance to demonstrate our commitment to communities through the creation of this inspiring F1 Allwyn Global Community Award, supporting the very best community initiatives around the world and bringing them to a huge global audience.”

McLaren is having a dominant Formula One season so far, with their two drivers at the top of the standings going into July.

Australian driver Oscar Piastri is 15 points clear of his team-mate Lando Norris ahead of the British GP at Silverstone, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen lagging behind in third spot as he chases a fifth successive title.

Global Platform

Stefano Domenicali, the Formula One chief executive and president, said a “positive legacy” is one of the sport’s main aims.

He said: “Every year 24 incredible venues open their doors to host us, and we are met with fantastic passion and love at the track and throughout the entire city, so I am very proud to launch the F1 Allwyn Global Community Award as part of our mission.

“We will give the local initiatives that go the extra mile for making their communities and make the world a better place the recognition and global platform they deserve.”

Allwyn runs the UK’s National Lottery after taking over as its operator from Camelot, and it also has a global official partnership with the 2024 F1 Constructors’ Champions, McLaren.
