The Britannia Stakes is an annual horse race at Ascot. It’s a flat handicap race colts and geldings three years of age can participate in. The length of the race is one mile and the course is straight. The race takes place on the third day of the annual Royal Ascot meeting in June.

This year’s winner was won by jockey Oisin Murphy and his horse Arabian Story. Their finishing time was 1:38:80, and their trainer was Saeed bin Suroor. The Britannia Stakes was first held in 1928, though only six years ago did BGC’s charity initiative begin.

The Britannia Stakes is one of 31 races that happen across the five-day event, with around 500 horses participating in the races. The most prestigious of these is the Gold Cup, a race of two and a half miles that’s also the oldest race at the Royal Ascot.
