Light & Wonder Tapped By Mecca Bingo for Terminals Deal
Mecca Bingo has announced a major revamp of dozens of UK bingo halls thanks to a new deal it has agreed with Light & Wonder.

The nationwide agreement will see 50 Mecca Bingo halls around the country get new gaming terminals, and existing technology is also set to be upgraded at the sites.
Light & Wonder will be installing 850 new Equinox gaming terminals at the Mecca Bingo halls.
Games available to play once the rollout has been completed include titles such as Rainbow Riches Blazing Lock.
There will also be upgrades to 645 T8 cabinets as part of the deal and Mecca adopting Light & Wonder’s Videobet platform.
Wayne Ellard, Light & Wonder’s vice president and managing director for the EMEA region, said: “This upgrade gives [Mecca’s] venues a strong foundation for the future while improving the player experience across the board.”
Uplift in Revenue
Mecca Bingo has already begun bringing the new gaming terminals to venues and says it has seen an increase in revenues as a result.
Commenting on the deal with Light & Wonder, the slots director for Mecca Bingo, Iain Graham, was full of praise for the collaboration.
He said: “From planning to installation, Light & Wonder’s professionalism and meticulous attention to detail have been exceptional. We are already seeing a clear uplift in revenue and are excited for what the future holds with Light & Wonder as a trusted collaborator.”
One of the reasons behind the deal is to get Mecca Bingo ready for the expected regulatory changes that will be affecting UK gaming venues if they come into force.
Gaming venues such as bingo halls, including those run by Mecca, could be given the green light to increase the number of high-stakes games they are allowed to offer..
Hardware consistency across Mecca’s UK bingo halls will also be provided as a result of the agreement between the two companies.
Bingo fans will be thrilled with the update, as well as looking forward to the upcoming National Bingo Week 2025, which will run from Monday 23rd June to Sunday 29th June.
Mk8i Hardware
The changes to the T8 cabinets include adding Mk8i hardware, which will help ensure a greater range of games can be offered in the future.
Future-proofing the cabinets with the latest technology is also one of Mecca Bingo’s aims.
Light & Wonder continues to be one of the industry’s major recent success stories.
According to its latest financial figures for Q1 2025, the company recorded $774m in revenue.
This meant Light & Wonder was able to record its 16th consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth, indicating continued solid performance for the company.
