The UK Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has welcomed a new member, the operator CopyBet. Grainne Hurst, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the BGC, has hailed CopyBet’s dedication to maintaining high standards across all of its services and operations.

About CopyBet

CopyBet has been online since 2016. As its name suggests, the site enables members to copy others’ bets. According to its landing page, thousands of experts (Tipsters) place bets on sporting events daily, using news and statistics to inform their decisions.

The site’s built-in rating system shows how much success members have had with their bets. If you create a standard CopyBet account, you can look through the list of Tipsters and copy any of their betting strategies. There’s also the option to create a Tipster account.

With a Tipster account, you’ll place bets of your own. If you want to have others copy your bets, you can do so for a fee. CopyBet offers both pre-match and live betting for a wide range of sporting events.

With its unique betting model, it hopes to create a lively community where people can share bets and strategies with others. It also saves inexperienced bettors from having to carry out research, read stats/news, and make their own betting decisions.

CopyBet’s Commitment to Safe Gambling

CopyBet has joined the BGC so it can be better placed to promote safe gambling practices and help maintain standards across the industry. The operator also recently joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) to help further its goals.

Grainne Hurst has said that the addition of CopyBet to the BGC line-up will allow the body to push forward with its goals of improving regulation and raising standards. All this can be done without damaging the industry in any way.

She has said the following about welcoming the new member to the BGC:

We look forward to collaborating with CopyBet, and all our members, as we work together to raise standards across the industry.Grainne Hurst, BGC CEO Comments on CopyBet Membership, Gambling News

The BGC is keen to promote collaboration between regulators and operators. It believes that working together is the key to effectively cracking down on illegal gambling. Hurst has spoken about the black market and how it can negatively affect players.

Illegal gambling sites enable crimes to be committed and can be harmful to players; they can easily become addicted to gambling or have money and data stolen, for example. Hurst believes these sites undermine legal, licensed ones; they’re a challenge regulators and operators must tackle together.

CopyBet’s UK business development director, Anton Ivanov, has expressed delight at CopyBet joining the BGC. He said the company is excited to work with the BGC on promoting safe gambling and ensuring standards are high across the industry.
