Key Facts:

  • Britain’s Benny Glaser has claimed two bracelets at the 2025 World Series of Poker.
  • Three players have won a million or more at the ongoing WSOP.
  • Over 60 WSOP bracelets will be awarded during the next five weeks.
  • The fabled Main Event will conclude on July 16.

He may not have won the most money, but Britain’s Benny Glaser has been the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) shooting star. The series has entered its third week, with 31 gold bracelet events now in the history books; Glaser has won two.

The 36-year-old from Southampton, who uses the alias ‘RunGodlike’ when playing online poker at PokerStars, is a mixed game specialist, and he took his jewellery collection to six bracelets when winning the $1,500 entry Dealers Choice event on the first day of June.

His reward for outlasting 597 tournament entries and five American rivals at the final table was $150,246. But the Hampshire native was only warming up, and just four days later, he doubled up in the $1,500 Mixed Omaha 8 or Better event, collecting $258,193.

This time, the field size was 1,239, and the final table was eight-handed. All rivals were American-based, and none could wrestle the title from his grasp. The question everyone is now asking is, can he win a third bracelet? It is a feat achieved only three times in history.

Britain’s Best at World Series of Poker

Benny Glaser is the most successful British player at the WSOP by a considerable margin. His seven bracelets have all emanated from the Las Vegas series and do not include success in spin-offs such as the WSOP Europe or National Championships. Nine players who have won two bracelets apiece are a distant joint second on the British list.

During a Poker Go interview following his second victory of 2025, it was pointed out that only two players accumulated seven bracelets quicker than Glaser: The grand old man of poker, Johnny Moss in the 1970s and Phil Ivey between 2000 and 2009.

Detractors will point out that Glaser’s seven WSOP successes have all come in specialist games – not dedicated Omaha or Hold’em tournaments – and his biggest single financial win has been $407,194.

However, his career-best live cash is $2,830,000 for his runner-up spot in the 2022 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas – a dedicated No Limit Hold’em tournament. It is a performance that would outstrip a victory in most Hold’em competitions.

Benny Glaser’s 2025 WSOP success has pushed his career winnings beyond $9 million, meaning he sits tenth on England’s all-time winners list. It is headed by Stephen Chidwick, also 36, who has banked $66.5 million during a 17-year poker playing career.

Three $1 Million WSOP Prizes and More to Come

The biggest prize of the 2025 WSOP to date went to Korea’s Chang Lee, who collected $1.94 million when winning the $25,000 entry No Limit Hold’em High Roller. Slovenia’s Blaz Zerjav netted a similar payday when converting his $25,000 entry No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed High Roller into $1.73 million.

American Michael Wilklow has achieved the highest yield at the 2025 WSOP. A 13-year career playing in lower entry tournaments with only a few five-figure paydays took a dramatic upturn in fortunes when he converted his $1,000 Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold’em entry into a $1 million first prize.

2025’s WSOP will run until July 16, with another 69 bracelet events scheduled. The headline Main Event – won under controversial circumstances by Jonathan Tamayo in 2024 – will begin on July 2, with four starting flights. It will conclude with its final table on July 15-16.
