Darts Premier League Finals – Viewer and Punters Guide

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries could serve up another classic final in Thursday’s Premier League Darts Play-Offs. However, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall will try to spoil their party.

Key Facts:

  • Darts Premier League will conclude on Thursday.
  • Bookmakers are predicting another Luke Littler and Luke Humphries final.
  • Gerwyn Price looks a fair bet in the semi-final with a handicap start.
  • Sky Sports will broadcast the action live from The O2 London.

After 16 weeks of action, Darts 2024 Premier League will conclude on Thursday evening in The O2 London. A repeat of last year’s final clash – when Luke Littler beat Luke Humphries – remains a distinct possibility, with the stars appearing in separate semi-final clashes.

The pair stand head and shoulders above Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall based on league results. This duo has won five nightly finals between them, but statistically, they have plenty to find with the favourites.

A switch to a longer format – the semi-finals are the ‘best of 19 legs’ whereas the competition has been ‘best of 11 legs’ to date – is likely to play to the strengths of Littler and Humpries. It explains the dismissive 6/1 and 10/1 quotes online gambling sites have given Price and Aspinall.

Can Price Shake Littler’s Finishing Figures Again?

As the table topper, Littler faces fourth-placed Gerwyn Price. The youngster has produced the most successful Premier League campaign with six nightly victories. He has the standout stats on all vital statistics – such as a 44.9 checkout percentage and a 102.4 three-dart average.

Presumably, Price withdrew from the Dutch Darts Championship over the weekend to concentrate on Thursday’s assignment. Littler had already announced he was swerving the event. £85,000 goes to the loser of face-off. The winner is guaranteed £125,000 with a shot at the £275,000 winner’s prize, so the stakes are high.

Littler is 3/10 to win this confrontation, but the tale of the tape does not make those short odds value-laden. Remarkably, Price holds sway in the head-to-head standings against Littler with seven wins from the pair’s last 11 meetings.

An analysis of these matches shows the teenager threw more 180s and hit more big numbers, trebles and even bullseyes, but against Price, his Achilles heel seems to be his ability to finish.

It is something to consider if betting in-play on this contest. However, our suggestion is to back Gerwyn Price receiving a start in one or more of the handicap markets before a dart is thrown. The UK’s online betting sites quote the Welshman on 4/6 odds with a +3.5-leg start and 11/10 with a +2.5-leg advantage.

Humphries Fancied on the Averages

Second and third positions on the Premier League table mean Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall will clash in the second semi-final. Aspinall has reached this stage despite having the lowest three-dart average of all Premier League players.

‘The Asp’ has a few percentage points to find with Humphries on 2025 Premier League stats. However, he has two nightly final victories on his form card, one of which came against Luke Humphries.

Unquestionably, the world’s No. 1 and former World Champion is the deserved favourite. Humphries has won seven of their last ten meetings, after all.

But his 4/11 odds may still overestimate his chances, especially considering that Aspinall is the favourite to record the most 180s matches.

In this contest, the only place value truly raises its head is in the obscure market on ‘players match average’. Aspinall’s line has been set on 96.5 and, at 5/6 odds, the ‘lower’ scenario strikes a chord – as it is noteworthy that the last time Aspinall beat Humpries, he averaged just 93.3.

How to Watch Darts’ Premier League Final

Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports+ will broadcast the Premier League Play-Offs at The London O2 Arena from 7pm on Thursday. Whereas the semi-finals are the ‘best of 19 legs’, the final will be the best of 21. Last year, Littler beat Humpries by an 11-7 scoreline.
