History

Here is the chronological order of the legal gambling phenomenon in Louisiana, covering the most intriguing historical milestones within the state.

1753-1866: In 1753 the Governor Louis Billouart de Kerrlerec opened the first government-run casino. In 1812 New Orleans, Louisiana Exempted from Federal gambling ban.
