As with most states without legal gambling, there have been efforts in the past to legalize it in many forms. Bills to legalize sports betting have been introduced but not passed, however the governor has renegotiated the compacts of three tribes, allowing them to offer sports betting. This has been controversial though and is currently being looked at by the Supreme Court.
