San Quentin Manhunt Slot Preview: Nolimit City Returns
San Quentin Manhunt by Nolimit City arrived April 21, 2026, bringing back the prison-block chaos with scatter pays, multipliers, and a massive 46,532x max win. It is another high-volatility sentence for players who like their slots loud, volatile, and politically incorrect.

I can still remember the first time I played San Quentin xWays just a little over 5 years ago, and I knew that slot titles would never ever be the same. And let’s be clear, it wasn’t the unheard of nearly 150,000x max win or the Jumping Wilds.
First, it was the original Enhancer Cells that promised a different kind of base game, and then it was the way the multipliers really started kicking in once you got into LockDown Free Spin mode.
But it was Nolimit’s approach with no sacred cows when it came to having a little fun with their titles as well, as their absolutely insanely priced, but often lucrative feature buys showed the world that a different kind of slot title would soon be dominating Top Ten lists.
While San Quentin Manhunt doesn’t bring that same sense of wow we got from the original, there is no doubt it shares much of the same DNA, as well as the ability to keep you in lockdown, much as the first one did.

Full Rules & Information About the San Quentin Manhunt Online Slot
The initial grid is a good place to start. It’s on a 6×5 grid, but on the top row, we only have the middle two reels in action; moving down a row, the middle four reels are active; then on the third row, all reels are visible, then back to four, then two again.
With those 18 initial positions, we need to land seven or more matching symbols for a scatter pay. Winners cascade away and are replaced with new symbols, which can trigger more winning ways.
Every one of these positions has its own multiplier. These can increase whenever they are part of a win, involved in a cell search, or hit by an xSplit, up to 128x in the base game.
This game brings back the Enhancer Cells from the original. They are along the top and bottom of every reel. When they unlock, they can show a prisoner or feature symbol.
Feature symbols include Cake Buster, which will unlock one of the locked off reel positions and show a wild symbol.
It can also be an xWays symbol. These will transform into one of the five prisoner symbols and also spawn two to four matching symbols on the grid. xSplit also converts into one of the prisoner symbols, but only after multiplying the Multiplier Block.

Yard Dealer will convert one random object symbol and convert it into first a higher paying object symbol and then a Prisoner symbol.
Last but not least, we have Cell Search, which happens when we don’t have a win. It takes the lowest-paying symbols adds a multiplier and then turns itself into a wild.
San Quentin Manhunt Symbols & Payouts
As mentioned, Nolimit doesn’t have a lot of out-of-bounds areas, so lower-paying symbols include not only the bar of soap, the toilet paper roll and the handcuffs from the first game, but also has a shiv, and a jar of Vaseline.
There are also five prisoner symbols, though we can find no mention of their names, unlike Biker Bill and the gang from the first San Quentin. You’ll want to get those Prison Tower Scatters to land, as the key to a profitable run in the base game is unlocking some of those Enhancer Cells early and often.

A prison-themed set of symbols awaits you in the yard.
- All symbols: 7
- Highest-Paying Symbol: Ace
- Wilds: Standard Wilds
- Paylines Pay: Scatter Pay
- Maximum Win: 46,532x
San Quentin Manhunt Bonuses & Features
Landing one of the Bonus Guard Towers unlocks the Enhancer Cells on both the top and bottom of that reel, but if you can land three Towers, you unlock the Sewer Escape Spins. You can expect to always have at least six free spins here, but the actual number is determined by the number of +1 symbols in the Bonus Setup Mode.
Multiplier Blocks don’t reset between spins and can go as high as 128x, unlocked reel positions remain unlocked and more bonus symbols can always award more free spins.

3,000x gets you two guaranteed bonus symbols and multipliers starting at 128x
If you can land four towers, then it’s Manhunt Spin time. Pretty much the same feature set, but now multipliers max at 512x. Also, Corner Enhancer cells come into play once all locked positions are unlocked.
In the Feature Buy, we have a little something for every budget, starting with the Bonus Booster, which at 2.5x guarantees one bonus symbol.
Felling lucky? 2x Bonus Booster is available for just 10x, and you guessed it, you get 2 Bonus symbols. Money not an issue? For a measly 150x, you can have those same two bonus symbols, and the initial multiplier kicks off at 64x.
And for a very reasonable 3,000x, you can have two bonus symbols absolutely for certain to appear and 128x those initial bonuses.
Similar Games & Best Alternatives
Look, if you haven’t played either San Quentin xWays in a few years or their massively popular successor, San Quentin 2 Death Row, do yourself a favor and go remind yourself why these were on so many people’s game of the year lists back in the day.
Though it’s a little hard to believe, those aren’t even all the great prison titles from Nolimit City you can choose from; there’s still impressive games like Folsom Prison and Remember Gulag, to name a couple.
Ain’t no Crime, Doing the Time
While San Quentin Manhunt is not likely to be the slot that has everyone talking like the first title, it’s still a lot of fun to play.
The volatility can feel like a life sentence, and the prison abuse themes can run a bit short after a while, (some might chuckle at the Vaseline the first time they see it, but certainly not the 101st).
But those issues aside, this one still packs a powerful punch and will have you giving it more of your time than you had intended, all without the possibility of early parole.
