Key Facts:

  • EDGE Boost is only debit card designed specifically for betting accounts
  • Users can share their spending activity with friends or family in social accountability program
  • Responsible Gaming tools are available to all users of the EDGE Boost debit card

A new industry responsible gaming program that relies on peer accountability is available for users of the EDGE Boost debit spending card.

The cards are linked to betting platforms in the first-of-its-kind debit card specifically developed for use with casino and sportsbook apps. EDGE Markets has added its Social Accountability Program to debit cards, which are available to customers who want to utilize a safe funding source for mobile betting platforms.

EDGE Markets, the fintech company behind the gaming-focused debit card EDGE Boost, unveiled a new program to increase transparency and improve responsible gaming habits: a social accountability “co-pilot” system.

The new tool lets users nominate a trusted friend or family member—referred to as a co-pilot—to receive weekly summaries of their gaming-related transactions.

Co-pilots also play an active role in financial controls. If a user attempts to raise their deposit or spending limits, the system requires a verification code from the co-pilot before any changes go into effect.

The innovation taps into behavioral psychology, specifically the concept that accountability is more effective when it comes from someone close to you. Rather than relying solely on software or platform enforcement, EDGE Boost introduces a social dynamic into financial responsibility.

“Peer involvement makes all the difference. It’s like having a workout partner—you’re more likely to show up. With betting, bringing someone you trust into the process makes responsible play more achievable.” — Seni Thomas, EDGE Boost, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, EDGE Markets Press Statement

The initial response to the feature has been notably strong. According to EDGE, about 7% of current users have activated the co-pilot tool. That’s well above the 1–2% adoption rate typically seen for operator-initiated responsible gaming tools in the online betting industry.

EDGE Boost’s co-pilot system is the latest in a growing suite of features to promote healthier engagement with gaming platforms. It supports EDGE’s broader mission to enable responsible wagering through financial technology instead of restrictive or punitive measures.

Further Compatibility

The tool is also designed to support compliance with the American Gaming Association’s evolving Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct. The company positions itself at the forefront of the industry’s responsible play movement by offering users a voluntary, transparent option for limit-setting and activity oversight.

The co-pilot system is available immediately to all EDGE Boost users. EDGE Markets plans to expand its responsible gaming tools in the coming months, including enhanced controls and additional reporting options tailored for casual and high-frequency players.

As the US online gaming market continues to grow, EDGE’s latest release highlights a shift toward proactive, user-centric safety features that emphasize collaboration over control.
