Online Sportsbooks Favour Tiger Woods to Win Masters

This is a different year for golf enthusiasts and wagers are already being placed on who may win the Masters Tournament. With Tiger Woods returning to the action most online betting is focused on his return to the game and the huge crowd that follows his every move. Those who are actively following the contenders for the title will be noticing there are other professional golfers out on the course that have as good a chance or better of taking home the top honours. Steve Stricker and Ernie Els are two players with a lot going for them but they are not getting a much attention because of the public's fascination with the Tiger Woods saga. Stricker is second in the world golf rankings after he won the Northern Trust open, his fourth victory on the PGA Tour. Stricker commented, “I’m sure we’ll get a ton of Tiger questions, and rightly so,” Adding, “It’s been a huge story.”

Ernie Els has something to look forward to as he has won a PGA tournament and the Arnold Palmer Invitational back to back. “People are not going to be talking about who’s in form until probably Thursday morning when we start the event,” Els remarked, “It’s going to be all about Tiger and him coming back and everything. So I think we will all be sideshows until Thursday morning. And I think we’re fine with that. Everybody is fine with that.” Stricker feels less pressured and can maintain a better focus on his game. In a press conference he said, “It’s a good thing, especially for me,” adding, “I don’t care to be looked at as a favourite or a top player. I would rather do my own stuff, my own business, and slide under the radar.”

Els is most confident about his quest for the green jacket in 2010 stating,“I think it could be one hell of a year,” “There’s a really good group of players playing well, and I think that bodes very well for the first major and the rest of the year. It’s not going to be a walkover for anybody.”
