32 Red Casino Review

Sorry, No US Players
32 Red Casino:

Microgaming-powered 32 Red Online Casino only came to be in the Summer of 2002, but in its three years of operation to date, the casino has demonstrated it's strength, having received the coveted Casinomeister 'Best Casino Award' for both 2003 and 2004.

A quick look in the 'about us' section of the 32 Red Casino website reveals that the casino is headed by a team with a wealth of experience in the gaming industry; Ed Ware (the CEO), was previously a Director at Ladbrokes International Ltd. (owned by Hilton plc.). I think it is a very positive sign when the owners of the casino are not afraid to 'show' themselves, unlike many casino owners who attempt to hide behind their customer support teams.

As a new player to the website, I first had to download the casino software, although a 'lite' version of the casino games is available through the 'flash' plug-in of a web browser. The file size of this download is almost 6mb exactly, which is on the large side. However, so as not to cause problems for dial-up users, 32 Red have thoughtfully decided to put their software on CD which can be requested via the website - again a positive sign that this casino is really thinking about its players.

Sign-up is a painless process with a simple bit of form-filling being all that is required to register as a new player. I created a US$ account, although 32 Red does offer play in Euros, Canadian Dollars and UK Pounds as well. It should be noted, however, that while 32 Red does allow play in these currencies, the casino is very much focused on attracting players from the UK, not that this should put off players from countries outside of the United Kingdom.

Having created my new account, it was now time to make a deposit. The UK-focus of 32 Red means that many UK-only purchase methods are available (e.g. Solo, Switch / Maestro) as well as a multitude of 'familiar' purchase options (NETeller, credit card etc.) I opted to make a $100 purchase which showed in my account instantly. As a new player, I could have also opted to accept one of 32 Red's sign-up bonuses (ranging from a 25% match to a 100% match depending on the bonus terms). However, since I wanted to cash-in instantly if I won big, I decided to play without a bonus. Incidentally, on-going bonuses are also available at 32 Red ranging from a monthly $32 match to a whopping $132 monthly match for Club Rouge (a loyalty club) members.

The casino games at 32 Red are presented in a common lobby format with headings splitting the games into sections (e.g. table games, slots etc). One nice touch at 32 Red is that a summary of game rules can be seen before entering a game - for example, the Blackjack summaries show the number of decks and the play rules (e.g. splitting and doubling rules). Similarly, a slot game summary details the number of reels, number of pay lines etc. I thought this was well-conceived and helps a user to select a game based on their preferences, particularly with slot games where the slot names often give little clue to the nature of the game.

Initially, only a couple of games are available after installing 32 Red. However, other games download in the background while the casino is running - and a user can 'force' games to download if they are particularly eager to play a favorite. Thankfully, my favorite (European Blackjack) was already installed, so I decided that I would head over there while some more games were downloaded.

Although it was European Blackjack I wanted, 32 Red offers a multitude of Blackjack varieties - a demonstration of the casino's commitment to satisfying the player. This is also demonstrated through the bet ranges allowed - my game had a minimum bet value of $2 and a maximum of $500. However, for the real high-rollers a high-limit game is available with a bet limit of $5000!

Being satisfied with the $2 minimum though, I proceeded to begin betting. The very first thing that struck me about the game play was how classy it was - graphics are of a very elegant, high quality and the smoothness of the play is particularly noticeable. However, the real draw for 32 Red is that its games are voiced by Patsy Kensit! This really puts 32 Red ahead of the competition and her alluring tone is almost enough to make losing bearable! Fortunately, I actually had a decent run of luck in Blackjack and came of a winner.

I then proceeded to check out some other table games - Roulette, Three-card poker, Baccarat; even more unusual games such as Sic Bo are present at this casino. With all the tables I visited I found the recurring theme of quality and detail. Even though I was on a dial-up connection the game play was faultless and the high-quality graphics and sounds simply further enhanced my gaming experience. Of course, with the customer-focus inherent in 32 Red operation, a player can chose whether to have sound effects and can even specify the game speed.

Another great feature I discovered at 32 Red casino is the 'Expert' mode. This mode has two sides to it. Firstly, the expert mode offers advice to the player - for Blackjack this means help with choosing whether to hit or stick; for Video Poker this is choosing which cards to hold. The second part of this mode is the 'auto play' option. This is where a player can set their computer to play automatically for them - a great way to get through wagering requirements. As such, for both novices and seasoned players alike, these options really do enhance game play. Whether you need help with your very first casino hands or want to whiz through a few hundred hands without thinking, simply set-up Expert mode with your preferences and away you go.

After visiting the table games section I then moved to the Video Poker sections. Again, a superb number of games are available - Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Aces and Faces, Bonus Poker and more are all available for the player. Also, many games come in multi-hand formats where a player can play either 4, 10 or 50 hands at once! The only critisism with the selection is that there are no 100-hand games which I have seen at other casinos, although to be honest I am sure there is more than enough choice at 32 Red to keep many players happy.

As well as the great graphics and sound showing again in the VP games, my luck also continued to hold. For example, I was dealt a pat straight while betting $12.50 on 50-hand Aces and Faces which converted to a nice $50 win. Even better was when I was dealt a Deuces Wild Royal Flush on one line of my 4-play Deuces Wild game - A $5 became $62.50!

However, my biggest win was yet to come as I ventured over to the slot section of 32 Red! Before detailing my luck, I should write about the huge choice of slot games available at this casino. From classic three-wheel slots to multi-line feature slots, 32 Red has available every possible slot type. The quality of the slot games is also quite simply awesome. Whereas many casinos often let themselves down with their slot quality, 32 Red present their slots with exactly the same quality and class as their other games.

Accompanied with the great game play is also the opportunity to win huge amounts of money! Progressive jackpots climb into their millions at this casino and I too had a good share of winnings. A $9 bet on the clever Double Magic Mega Spin rewarded me with a $17 prize and risky $10 bet on Jackpot Express handed back $28. However, my biggest win came where I least expected it - on Major Millions. This slot's prizes are almost all very small in value apart from the progressive jackpot, which has hit for over $1.7m. However, there is a prize value of $400 for three red sevens… a prize I won with my $3 bet!

So after having a great time playing at this casino I ended up cashing in a bankroll of $500! This was also a good test of whether the casino's quality operation would continue after cashing in such a decent amount. Of course, I should have had no concerns - in less than 24 hours after cashing in the money was sitting in my NETeller account.

Finally, I should comment on support, which again proved to be of the highest quality. Contact can be made through every means possible - email, telephone, live chat and even by post and fax is possible. Similarly, the customer support representatives are of a very good quality. 32 Red have chosen to keep their support 'in house' meaning the support representatives actually work in the 32 Red office. As such, questions are answered instantly and in a very friendly manner. Of course though, by this point I was expecting nothing less.

To conclude, it is easy to see why 32 Red have won so many awards - Superb, classy gaming is made possible through the exquisite attention to detail. A huge game selection coupled with quality graphics and sounds really does make this a second-to-none gaming experience. Add to this a quality banking and support team and you really do have a casino that is definitely one of the best available. Keep up the good work, 32 Red. Oh, and a few more big wins would be nice!
