Ladbrokes Casino Review

Sorry, No US and German Players Accepted @ Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes Casino:

In the UK betting is big business, and pretty much the biggest name in the industry is Ladbrokes. This company started off as a high-street bookmaker but has now branched out to provide numerous gambling opportunities to the everyday punter. This includes moving into the online gambling world ,and as such I decided it was time to review this leading UK-player.

At this point it should be noted that Ladbrokes actually offers a few different casino type games on their website. Firstly, they offer no-download Flash games which are powered by Microgaming. They also have a live web-cam dealer casino where players can compete in a 'live-action' world. However, it was the Microgaming-powered download casino that caught my eye, so it will be this casino that will be the focus of my review.

This download casino is obtained through clicking the appropriate link on the Ladbrokes site. It should be noted that the various Ladbrokes sites are completely integrated. As such, a player simply needs to create one account to access the sports betting side of the site, the fixed odds games section, as well as to access the various casinos. Downloading, though, is identical to at other Microgaming-powered sites, although the 4.48mb file that needs to be obtained is actually smaller than at many competitor sites. This will please those on slow connections, although of course, games still need to be downloaded even after this file has been obtained and installed.

After I had installed the Ladbrokes Casino software I was presented with a standard logon window. I actually already had a Ladbrokes account, and as such just had to enter my usual username and password to gain access. New account registration is easy though, and as stated earlier just one login is required for access to the various Ladbrokes sites. As such, a new player can sign-up within the software itself or on the main Ladbrokes site. Either way, the usual details such as name and address must be submitted for a new account to be created. It should be noted that Ladbrokes bans US and German players. As such, persons residing in these territories will not be allowed to create a Ladbrokes account. When it comes to currencies, a whole range are accepted including GB £, Euros, Australian Dollars and more.

While Ladbrokes Casino does offer a 'free play' mode, for the real thrill of online gambling a player needs to make a real money deposit. At Ladbrokes a wide range of deposit options are available, and I was impressed that the minimum credit card deposit amount is just £5. There are also a wide range of other depositing options available; including NETeller, UKash and surprisingly PayPal. Money Order, Cheques and bank transfer are also all accepted. The integration cashier system also means that money can also be easily transferred from the sports book or poker parts of the Ladbrokes site. As my account was denominated in UK £, I made a £60 deposit (about $115).

The nice thing at Ladbrokes Casino, is that there is no time restriction on the casino sign-up bonus. As such, a player could have held a poker account for years, but if they had never transferred funds to the casino before, that first transfer would still be eligible for a sign-up bonus. The bonus itself is a very generous £50 free. Even more generous, though, are the wagering conditions. A player simply needs to transfer £50 to the casino, wager this 4 times and they can then claim the £50 - no more conditions attached. This bonus practically guarantees that a profit can be made and will be tempting to pretty much every new player. Unfortunately, I had already played this bonus previously, so this time lady luck would decide whether money was made or not!

When it comes to the actual games at Ladbrokes, a huge number are available - over 200 according to the Ladbrokes site. These are made up of table games, slots and video poker games - pretty much every player's tastes are catered for. These games are accessible in two ways. Firstly, there's a pretty standard lobby interface, which can be found across almost every Microgaming-powered casino. Through this lobby a game preview can be found detailing the rules of the game and even providing a screenshot of the game in action. However, at Ladbrokes a 'homepage' view of the games is also available. This homepage view details current promotions taking place, but also provides access to the games as well. I liked this view as it shows the game limits for each game. As such, a player can chose a game based on their desire to take a risk - a nice touch.

To begin with, I decided I'd check out some of the table games available. I was fortunate when I chose to play, as Ladbrokes had just introduced their 'Gold' range of Blackjack games. These really do take internet gaming to a new level in terms of smooth and speedy play with beautifully executed graphics, digital quality sound effects and music considerably enhancing the fun factor of this classic card game.

I chose to play the Atlantic City Gold game and was very impressed with the new additions. These include an improved table perspective, precise graphics and an animated chip selector. These add no end to the game presentation. Recently I've become somewhat bored with the Microgaming game presentation, but here Ladbrokes has definitely raised the bar, and I'm sure players are bound to be impressed with each and every card flip and chip movement they experience.

I also had some reasonable luck on this game with my first few bets all winning. I do like it when this happens! Of course, the losers come along too - but at Ladbrokes you can be sure a fair game is being dealt - a company as big as Ladbrokes would be crazy to risk their reputation with fixed games. Fair gaming is a must for everyone from low rollers to whales, and with the minimum bet at blackjack being just £1 and the maximum being a massive £2k, I'm sure Ladbrokes gets its fair share of both types of player!

Moving on from the Blackjack tables, I checked out some of the other table games available. There really is a good selection of table games at Ladbrokes, and I had particular fun playing Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud Poker. Unfortunately, my luck at these games was average, and I didn't really win any major amounts to help boost the bank balance. When it comes to game presentation though, these games were still great to play.

After my table game fun, I decided next to play the Video Poker games. As with the table games, a huge number of games are available including many multi-hand varieties. These multi-hand games can be great fun and profitable too - 100 winners after receiving winning initial cards definitely pays nicely!

Specifically, I tried out the Deuces and Joker 10-hand Video Poker Game. I like this wild card game, as when the wild cards show the winning combinations can really be good. True to form, this game proved a profitable choice as my bank roll headed towards the £100 mark. The funny thing was I didn't really get any huge wins, but consistent low level wins still helped push my money in the right direction. The same happened on the 100-hand Aces and Faces game - no huge winners, but consistent wins. Of course, the game play for the Video Poker games is excellent. One thing that really impressed me was the speed of game play. At competitor sites, multi-hand games can take a while to play because of the amount of data needed to be sent from the casino server. That's definitely not a problem here, and when combined with the cool graphics and sound effects I can see that Ladbrokes could well become a Video Poker player's favorite casino.

The last thing I wanted to test was the slot games. It has to be said that a large number of the 200+ games available at Ladbrokes are slot games and from what I could see, every type of slot is available. Classic Three-reel games sit along side 5-line slots and multi-line video slots with cool video games. One game I really wanted to check out was Big Kahuna. This game is a video slot with some really cool features. One requires you to appease the gods by dropping items in to a bubbling volcano. Another lets you pick masks to reveal nice prizes. Unfortunately, my review is not as complete as I would like as I didn't get to activate any bonus round! I went through over £100 betting just £2.25 a spin and didn't hit a thing!

As such, I came away from this game really licking my wounds. I decided with just £20 left to see if any of the other slots would give me back some money. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. Having said that, I did have fun though, and particularly enjoyed the bright graphics on the Big Top game. The progressive games were fun too - although they were not very generous. I guess that's the way that progressive's play - although to win a multi-million pound jackpot for a tiny outlay must be mind blowing!

This time I didn't have anything to withdraw. However, I have made numerous withdrawals previously on my account and have never had any issues. Ladbrokes have no pending withdrawal times, with many withdrawals being instantly processed. This means withdrawals to debit cards etc. will show in 2-3 days. However, for those with e-wallets it means that winnings can be back to a players account within literally an hour or so. Banking as slick as this is definitely a plus.

Customer support is also an important factor to consider when choosing a casino, and at Ladbrokes this is available 24/7. Firstly there is email support, which I found to be extremely responsive - my test emails were responded to within around 10-15 minutes or so. There's also telephone support, which again is a good thing, although unfortunately only the UK have a toll-free number available. For those living outside the UK that want instant support there is a 'live chat' facility. However, this is different to live chat found elsewhere. Basically, a person can ask a question and a response comes back in the chat window within a minute or two. However, this is not really a convenient method to use for lengthy conversations.

In conclusion, I have to say I was very impressed with Ladbrokes even though this time I didn't win. The range of games is huge, and the presentation on these games it top notch. The addition of the Gold series of Blackjack games really has raised the entertainment factor of Blackjack and the other games available are great fun too. The banking function of Ladbrokes works excellently, and the minimum deposits and rapid withdrawals are definitely a big plus. The only area I think could be improved is the support function - which for non-UK players is only reasonable. However, perhaps I am being harsh here - after all, emails are responded to in a very quick timeframe. All in all though, Ladbrokes is an excellent casino and for those that are able to play here I would highly recommend it.
