Betsson Wins Four Awards at 2026 European iGaming Gathering

With four prizes, Scandinavian online gambling company, Betsson, has shone at the European iGaming Awards.

Scandinavian online gambling company, Betsson, was the big winner at the European iGaming Awards. The popular event took place alongside ICE (formerly known as the International Casino Exhibition) at the Hotel Porta Fira in Barcelona this week.

The first major awards ceremony of the year for the global iGaming industry, the European iGaming Awards celebrate innovation and excellence across the online gaming sector, recognising the operators, suppliers and professionals shaping the future of the gaming industry.

An annual prestigious prizegiving, organised by Datateam Business Media – publishers of Gaming International Online and Casino International – this year’s European iGaming Awards were split into four categories: Innovation, People, Industry and Best Of.

In total, there were 33 prizes, of which Malta-based Betsson had 10 finalists. In some cases, awards featured a whopping 14 shortlisted contenders. The company claimed four awards: Best Diversity & Inclusion Employer, Best Online Casino Operator, Safer Gambling Award, and Sustainability Award – Operator.

An AI Innovation That’s a Winner

No other company landed more than one prize. Sportradar, a technology company providing real-time data, analytics, and content for the sports, media, and betting industries, had big hopes of success with nominees in seven awards

It collected one, the Best Sports Betting Innovation award, for its 4Sight Streaming product. It uses AI to overlay real-time stats and insights directly onto live video across more than 100,000 events per year.

Software company Play’n GO, another with seven candidates for award success, also had a healthy representation. Renowned for its cutting-edge mobile gaming, the company collected the Sustainability Award – Supplier accolade.

Likewise, strength in numbers saw SOFTSWISS claim a European iGaming gong. The rapidly-growing online casino and sports betting software provider hit the bullseye when bestowed the Best iGaming Platform Supplier from the six shots it had at the target.

Grand Games for Giants and Up-And-Comers

Other winners included US giant Bally’s, which was given the Most Innovative Online Casino Operator award ahead of the considerably smaller Winspirit. It earned a ‘special recognition’ tick as the unofficial runner-up.

Inspired Entertainment, a business-to-business provider of gaming content, technology, hardware, and services to some of the best UK live online casinos, won Slot Game of the Year for its Golden Winner Grand Chance game.

Smaller operators that left the gathering with a trophy for their boardroom display cabinets include Press Box PR, which was awarded PR Agency of the Year. 18Peaches, founded in 2022, was another big winner, taking the Best Slot Game Provider award.

ISO 27001 certified GeoLocs first developed its geolocation compliance technology in 2010 and launched with Rank Group a year later. Nevertheless, it was chosen as the Up-and-Coming Brand of the Year.
