A Third WSOP Gold Bracelet Has Gone to Britain’s Glaser

The World Series of Poker has passed its halfway point. American players have dominated proceedings, but Brit, Benny Glaser, has Las Vegas spellbound.

Key Facts:

  • Benny Glaser lands his third WSOP bracelet.
  • Philip Sternheimer makes a good investment.
  • America’s Seth Davies wins almost $5 million.
  • Austria’s Klemens Roiter outbattled 9,919 to win big.

The juggernaut Benny Glaser has continued to make headlines in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) by winning a third gold bracelet at the Holy Grail of Poker.

The Englishman added the $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball title to his $1,500 Dealers Choice and $1,500 Mixed Omaha 8 or Better successes at the 2025 Series over the weekend.

Glaser, the star of the 2025 WSOP, is one of only seven players to have won three gold bracelets in the same Series. The others are Scott Seiver (2024), Jeff Lisandro (2009), Phil Ivey (2002), Ted Forrest (1993), Phil Hellmuth (1993) and Puggy Pearson (1973).

Sternheimer Makes a Good Investment

Only one other player who claims British sovereignty, Philip Sternheimer, has scored at the 2025 poker jamboree so far. An ex-partner at the investment giant Hellman & Friedman, the London-based investor landed the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.

This may have been another specialist game/tournament, but 46-year-old Sternheimer impressively battled through a final table featuring the winners of 21 bracelet events. This was Sternheimer’s maiden victory at the WSOP after what he described in a revealing LinkedIn post as a “decade-long dream”.

Slim Pickings for Non-Americans in Medal Race

Despite four bracelets being headed back to the UK, thus far, it has been a World Series dominated by Americans. Zachary Zaret ($1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better) has given Canada its only WSOP bracelet. Australia and New Zealand are empty-handed, which is equally remarkable.

Players from Spain, Colombia, Slovenia, Brazil, China, Korea, Ukraine, Austria, Portugal, Argentina, Thailand and Germany have collected a bracelet. But Russia sits third on the medal table behind the UK and USA with two bracelets.

New Additions to the Poker Millionaire Club

America’s Seth Davies leads the way in the money stakes with his $4,752,551 collected in the $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold’em. Portuguese player João Vieira has fared second best. He earned $2,649,158 when landing the $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller.

Germany’s Dennis Weiss collected $2,292,155 for winning the $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha. Only three other players have banked $1 million-plus from a single tournament.

America’s Dylan Linde earned $2,146,414 from the $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha, and Jason Koon netted $1,968,927 in the $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller.

The most noteworthy million-plus winner is Austria’s Klemens Roiter, as he outbattled a whopping 9,919 rival entries in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack for a $1,204,457 reward.

Benny Glaser’s three bracelet successes have been accompanied by a total prizemoney haul of $616.991.

With a $100,000 Omaha, a $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em, several $10,000 entry tournaments (including the fabled main event) yet to get underway – and the $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold’em (featuring two $1 million-plus prizes) yet to finish – the 2025 World Series will make at least another dozen players ‘poker millionaires’ in the coming weeks.
