CityCasts Already Live in Several Major US Cities

Major online gaming provider Rush Street Interactive (RSI) is entering the ever-lucrative podcast world with its very own audio and video product going by the name of CityCasts. It will roll out across the United States with the help of its BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse brands.

Airing on weekdays across multiple popular podcast and media platforms, the CityCasts audio and video podcasts will aim to help bettors make more informed decisions by providing them with the latest news, expert analysis and profound insight.

As of writing, the CityCasts podcast is currently live for bettors residing in major cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. However, it is expected to spread further across the nation, hitting cities such as New York, Denver, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles in the very near future.

Hosts’ Expert Analysis Will Enable Bettors to Make Informed Decisions

Richard Swartz, Rush Street Interactive (RSI)’s latest CEO appointed only this past August, explained that the provider’s CityCasts podcasts are locally focused in line with the brand’s Hometown Sportsbooks, but will always provide bettors with the best industry knowledge in order for them to make the wisest betting calls:

“These CityCasts are locally focused, which is consistent with our strategy to offer our players Hometown Sportsbooks, and offer authentic and credible breakdowns specific to each host’s home market. The hosts’ expert analysis will assist BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse bettors in making knowledgeable sports betting decisions, whether they’re experienced or brand new to the action.”Richard Swartz, CEO, Rush Street Interactive (RSI)

Rush Street’s foray into the booming podcast market represents the provider’s latest venture with its brand BetRivers, following the launch of the BetRivers online casino in the state of West Virginia.

Rush Street Interactive Among Final Arizona Licensees

After a long and much-anticipated wait, the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) released its final list revealing the allocation of operator licenses earlier this month in September 2021.

The announcement arrived just in time for the launch of the state’s legal sports betting market on September 9th. Ten tribal gaming licenses were handed out in the process, with the Hualapai Tribe powered by Golden Nugget, and the Tonto Apache Tribe in partnership with Churchill Downs Incorporated being some of the highlights.

However, the licenses were far from being limited to solely tribal operators — eight sports teams and venues were also some of the chosen few. And one of these teams was the Arena Football League’s Arizona Rattlers, which has partnered together with none other than Rush Street Interactive (RSI).

Marking the occasion of the announcement of Arizona’s licensees, Director of the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) Ted Vogt reinforced the importance of public and stakeholder comment while the regulatory body was selecting recipients:

“During the rulemaking process for event wagering, the Department made it a priority to gather as much public and stakeholder comment as possible, particularly on aspects such as license allocation. The allocation decision we are announcing today is a direct result of these efforts, helping to ensure the impartiality and fairness of the process for all applicants.”Ted Vogt, Director, Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG)

RSI Also Among NY Mobile Betting Applicants

Rush Street Interactive is no stranger to the rat race that has been the attempt to win as many mobile and sports betting licenses across the United States this year. With the state of New York finally opening up for legal online betting, the applicants for mobile betting licenses were unveiled in August 2021.

Well-known brands including FanDuel, Kambi, Bet365, FoxBet and theScore all submitted proposals to the New York State Gaming Commission for licenses to provide mobile betting offerings. The state must now select two platform providers, subsequently allowing for four skins to be run between the lucky two.

Curiously enough, Kambi made the bold move and decided to submit two applications on its own. The first would see it pair together with Fanatics Sportsbook and Penn National Gaming, while the other would see it join forces with a motley crew of operators: Caesars, Resorts World, PointsBet, Wynnbet, and, most importantly, Rush Street Interactive.

Whether Rush Street emerges victorious as part of Kambi’s collective remains to be seen, as all applicants will now be subject to both a steep $25 million license fee, as well as a unique point scoring system which the New York State Gaming Commission will employ to rank and judge the applications.
