At 6/4 Davide and Ekin-SU Are the New Love Island Favorites

Escapades at Casa Amor have led to carnage in Love Island’s betting market. Every islander is now back in the main villa but, after several boys and girls drifted away from their original partners, the dynamics within the villa have changed a lot.

As a result of the Casa Amor drama, Jay and Danica have sought love elsewhere after admitting they were not compatible. Tasha and Andrew have both picked new partners following a month together. At one stage they were the show’s 4/1 favorites.

However, Luca and Gemma, Paige and Jacques, and Ekin-Su and Davide have all remained coupled. This trio now sits at the head of the bookmakers betting lists.

Italian hunk Davide and bombshell Ekin-Su – a former soap star in Turkey – are the new market leaders. The latest Love Island odds show the pair are just 6/4 to collect the £50,000 winner’s prize.

Ekin-Sue to Steal the Love Island Bounty?

Individually Davide is 6/4 to be part of the winning couple and Ekin-Sue is 7/4 to end the show as the top female. While the public clearly likes the couple, according to a recent story in the Mirror, many believe Ekin-Sue is planning to steal the entire prize for herself.

Traditionally, during the show’s final episode, presenter Laura Whitmore will ask the winners to select an envelope each. One of these contains nothing, while the other holds the full £50,000.

Whoever has the envelope with the prizemoney in it is then asked if they want to split it with their partner or if they want to keep the whole £50,000 to themselves.

10/1 a Love Island First

This final twist – designed to reveal if the winner was in the show for love or money – has never led to a contestant taking the full cash sum. Could 2022 be a first?

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati, reacting to the news Ekin-Sue is just 10/1 to steal the entire prize, told the Mirror: “Ekin-Su has undoubtedly been the standout star of the series so far. If the latest odds are anything to go by, she could still give us what would easily be one of the greatest moments in Love Island history in this year’s finale.”

Gemma Owen Remains on the Ball

One contestant that is unlikely to be concerned about taking away an additional £25,000 is Gemma Owen. But the daughter of multi-millionaire footballing star Michael Owen has bookmakers’ opinions divided.

Coral online sportsbook currently rate the 19-year-old a 13/8 shot to finish the show as the top female. Other firms, such as rivals William Hill, have the beauty quoted at a considerably more generous 11/4.

The youngster has been in the show since the new series began – as has her partner Luca Bish – and 11/4 was her opening quote. It has become noticeable Gemma has not received as much airtime as some of her fellow islanders during the past week.

If this were to change and the cameras were to focus more on this tranquil coupling as the show enters its final weeks – Love Island 2022 is expected to finish on Monday, August 1 – Owen’s price may well collapse.
