LMG Will Also Employ Kambi Group’s API Capabilities

The highly prominent gaming technology solutions provider, Kambi Group, has announced that it has agreed to stand behind LMG Gaming (LMGG), which is owned by Puerto Rican media business Liberman Media Group, on the occasion of the forthcoming launch of its new sportsbook product in the unincorporated US island territory.

As part of the ensuing long-term deal between the two, Kambi will furnish over its sportsbook technology LMGG in the form of powering LMGG’s ApuestaPR betting brand, which is expected to first launch online, before potentially being expanded to retail in the near future.

LMGG will simultaneously employ Kambi’s application programming interface (APIs), as well as a whole range of other marketing tools, in order to help promote the brand on LMG’s Teleonce television network in Puerto Rico.

Kambi Determined to Be Best-In-Class Technology Provider After Extensive Research

Speaking on the occasion, one of LMGG’s major partners, Winter Horton, explained that the operator’s deep research resulted in it choosing Kambi Group, largely due to its top of the line technology solutions products:

“After extensive research the choice was clear, Kambi is by far the best-in-class sportsbook in the industry and we are honored to build our business in Puerto Rico with them. With our top-rated Teleonce television network providing unlimited marketing and our key retail relationships, we are very confident that ApuestaPR will be the number one sports betting platform in Puerto Rico.”Winter Horton, Partner, LMGG, Press Release

Meanwhile, for its part, Kambi co-founder and chief executive Kristian Nylén sees the chance to partner with LMG Gaming as a momentous occasion for the technology solutions provider, believing the operator will be successful in engaging its desired audience in Puerto Rico:

“Partnering with LMG Gaming is an exciting opportunity, as they are on a mission to create the most engaging sports betting product in Puerto Rico. By leveraging Kambi’s enhanced empowerment and marketing tools, alongside its popular Teleonce brand, LMG Gaming will be able to reach its target audience and drive player engagement through a bespoke betting experience.”Kristian Nylén, Co-Founder and Chief Executive, Kambi Group, Press Release

Penn Entertainment Plans to Migrate Sportsbook Away from Kambi

In other recent Kambi news, the solutions provider announced just recently in October 2022 that it had engaged in an agreement with Penn Entertainment which will see the complete migration of the operator’s online and retail sportsbooks from Kambi to Penn’s own proprietary technology.

The shift is expected to first take care of its online sportsbook, which will likely come in the third quarter of 2023, with the retail migration scheduled to take place shortly thereafter in 2024. During the incoming transition period, both parties have also agreed to collaborate closely together on additional US state launches for the Barstool Sportsbook platform.

Speaking of Barstool, Penn Entertainment dropped the bombshell news back in February 2022 that it would make efforts to acquire full control of Barstool Sports by the beginning of next year 2023. Kambi co-founder and chief executive Kristian Nylen emphasized the solid working relationship between Kambi Group and Penn Entertainment in a shared statement:

“This agreement sets out the continued collaboration between the two parties over the coming years, one which secures certain ongoing revenue for Kambi over the transition period. Furthermore, the terms also provide Kambi with additional protections with regards to our data and intellectual property.”

Kambi Appointed New Chief Commercial Officer in April 2022

All the way back in April 2022, Kambi revealed that Cecelia Wachtmeister had been appointed to head up their commercial team as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer. She first joined the company’s executive management team back in 2019, before which she served on Kambi’s board between the years of 2017 and 2019.

Wachtmeister wasn’t the only recent addition to Kambi’s growing commercial team, however, with Sarah Robertson moving up to SVP Sales, Jamie McKittrick shifting over to SVP Commercial Operations, and Veena Dhesi now acting as SVP for Partner Success.

Marking the occasion of the new appointment, Wachtmeister reassured observers that the sky’s the limit for the technology solutions provider:

“With a market-leading product and partner-first focus, it’s no surprise Kambi has enjoyed great success in recent years. Even though we are on a steep growth trajectory, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible which is why I’m looking forward to working with my talented commercial team to ensure Kambi can capitalize on the many exciting opportunities that lay ahead. It has already been a busy start to the year with the signings of MaximBet and NorthStar Gaming and I am confident we have the right team and product in place to build on this success in 2022 and beyond.”
