The American Gaming Association’s (AGA) president and chief executive Bill Miller explained that Beddis’ talent in executive strategies, along with her extensive experience in the executive world, will surely boost the association’s operations moving forward:

American Gaming Association (AGA) Expressed Worry About Small Gaming in April 2020

As it so often does, the American Gaming Association (AGA) released a statement all the way back in April 2020 which was vocal in its criticism of the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) decision to deny small gaming businesses economic aid.

The decision in question revolved around the SBA’s exclusion of small gaming entities and their employees from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which arrived in the peak of the early stages of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. According to the AGA, one-third of the casino industry would be severely negatively impacted by the decision.

Bill Miller, the CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), emphasized that poor and working-class Americans would be disproportionately impacted by the decision, urging the SBA to include gambling businesses in the much sought after PPP program:

“This decision will affect hard-working Americans from Pennsylvania to Nevada, Ohio to Colorado, and everywhere in between who need and deserve the same level of support as anyone across the country during these unprecedented times. Moreover, as the AGA pointed out in a letter to SBA and the U.S. Department of Treasury, the inclusion of gaming businesses in the PPP is critical to help ensure employees can remain connected to their employers, stay off of unemployment, and quickly return to their jobs when this pandemic subsides.”Bill Miller, Chief Executive, American Gaming Association (AGA), Press Release

Parx Hopped On Board AGA’s Safer Gambling Awareness Campaign in April 2022

Key among the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) many responsibilities is the promotion of safer gambling awareness across the country, which it achieves primarily through ventures such as its ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.’ safer gambling awareness campaign. And back in April 2022, the parent company of Parx Casino and BetParx, Greenwood Racing, announced that it was hopping on board the initiative.

The Parx brand is now responsible for promoting responsible gaming consumer education at its sportsbooks, which it will do mainly via its BetParx app, as well as on its various digital channels. The campaign is based around four key principles: setting a budget and keeping to it, making sure that gambling is a social activity, knowing the odds at stake, and only wagering with legal and licensed operators.

Chief marketing officer of the Parx brand, Marc Openheimer, stressed the central role responsible gaming plays in Greenwood’s core mission statement:

“Responsible gaming is an integral part of Greenwood Racing’s sports betting strategy. We’re excited to extend our long-standing commitment to responsible gaming consumer education through this partnership with the AGA.”
