Betway Partners with New Jersey Devils

The Super Group-owned online gambling provider Betway has announced that it has just recently signed a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise the New Jersey Devils. Betway logos will now receive branding exposure and TV-visible signage throughout the Devils’ Prudential Center home arena, including scoreboard advertising.

New Jersey Devils are Betway’s Twelfth US Sports Partner

Renowned sports betting operator Betway, which is now owned by parent company Super Group, has revealed that it has signed a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) team the New Jersey Devils.

Betway will reap a significant boost to its brand exposure as part of the deal, receiving TV-visible signage throughout the Devils’ Prudential Center home arena, which will include presence on the dasherboard, in the Zamboni tunnel and in-bowl staircase branding, as well as in-bowl LED ring and scoreboard advertising.

Betway will also help present the team’s ‘Devils Starting Line-Up, presented by Betway’ initiative, which is a series of social media posts supported and promoted across all of the franchise’s official social media channels.

The sports betting operator’s deal with the New Jersey Devils makes this its 12th marketing partnership with a major US sports team. Other notable partnerships include teams such as the NHLs’ Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers, as well as National Basketball Association (NBA) franchises the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.

Partnerships are Linked to Super Group’s US Expansion

Betway’s active efforts to grow its sports team partnerships across the nation are very much linked to efforts to support its new parent company Super Group and its continued efforts to expand into the US market.

The provider stepped into a definitive agreement with special purpose acquisition business Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp (SEAC) and as a result started to become listed on the Nasdaq in April 2021.

Following the deal, Betway and SEAC have launched in another five US states – Iowa, Indiana, Colorado, New Jersey and Pennsylvania – with their sights set on an additional six states.

CEO of Betway Anthony Werkman highlighted the New Jersey Devils’ visibility as a key asset in helping the sports provider expand into the ever-growing US sports betting market:

“We’re very excited to be adding the New Jersey Devils to our existing North American sports sponsorship portfolio. Our partnership with the Devils will give us great exposure via the extensive list of marketing rights, which will enable us to showcase our products to customers in New Jersey.”Anthony Werkman, CEO, Betway

Adam Cross, who is the Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and the New Jersey Devils, believes the team’s partnership with Betway will greatly benefit the average New Jersey sports bettor:

“We are thrilled that Betway has selected the New Jersey Devils to continue their global campaign to connect and engage with the most dedicated fans across the NHL and sport. The New Jersey sports fan continues to be savvy, aware and engaged with sports betting opportunities; and we are pleased to introduce them to Betway’s unique platform, featuring some of the most entertaining wagers and competitive odds available today.”Adam Cross, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and the New Jersey Devils

Betway Partnered with Miami Heat in October 2021

As previously mentioned, Betway has been on a roll this year with its US sports team partnerships, having just recently announced the world-famous NBA team and franchise the Miami Heat as its latest marketing partner.

The multi-year deal will see Betway become the Heat’s official partner and its preferred free-to-play gaming partner. Much like its most recent deal with the New Jersey Devils, Betway will also enjoy a notable boost to its branding thanks to its deal with the Miami Heat. This will come in the form of increased presence on surfaces inside the Heat’s FTX Arena, such as LED courtside and baseline apron signage.

Chief executive of Betway Anthony Werkman once again expressed the operator’s excitement as news of the exclusive deal broke:

“Following further growth in the US, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the Miami Heat. Miami is a fantastic city where sport is a huge passion, and we look forward to sharing the thrill with fans of the three-time NBA championship winning side.”

Miami Heat’s vice president of corporate partnerships, Glen Oskin, praised Betway as an important industry leader in the world of sports betting: “With a proven track record as a global brand, Betway made a huge splash as it entered the US market. Betway is an industry leader, and we couldn’t be happier to have it as a partner.”

NHL and Russian Sports Betting Provider Form Partnership

Hockey is one of the most popular sports in Russia, if not the most popular, and clearly the NHL has noticed this. In September 2021, the league agreed to partner with Russian sports betting platform Liga Stavok to help the provider increase its profile among western bettors.

Much of the NHL’s international viewership originates from Russia, so its partnership with Liga Stavok, which itself is among Russia’s most successful online betting sites, shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
