Brand Recognition

Parimatch, one of the world’s leading sports betting operators, has unveiled not one, but three brand new sponsorship deals. Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton are amongst the UK’s top performing football clubs competing in the Premier League, and are the latest to join Parimatch’s impressive portfolio of partners.

The fresh deals will go a long way to boost Parimatch’s profile in the UK and further afield. Fans of its sponsored clubs will get to know the brand over the course of the upcoming season, as will fans of Premier League football in general.

While the Premier League consists only of English clubs, its popularity is on the rise around the world. In fact, according to viewership figures, it is the most popular football league in the world. The Premier League is watched by sports fans in the US, the Middle East, and increasingly, Asia.

Asian sports betting operators have taken to sponsoring Premier League sides, as they too can benefit from exposure to football fans. Amongst those that have already signed deals with top-flight English clubs are BK8, ManBetX, MoPlay and M88. However, the practice is questionable, as gambling is illegal in China.

Football clubs in the UK may be on borrowed time themselves when it comes to partnering with gambling firms. Pressure has been mounting on the government over recent years to take action to reduce the abundance of gambling marketing that is visible in British football.

It has been rumored that a ban on gambling firms sponsoring the shirts of football clubs could be brought in with new gambling legislation late this year, or next year. For now, many clubs are happy to continue their partnerships with betting and gaming firms, especially whilst they recover from the financial losses of coronavirus pandemic.

Best English Clubs

Parimatch signed the three-club agreement with Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton on August 21st. The contracts include multiple offline and digital rights, as well as tickets and hospitality, club merchandise, exclusive access to club assets and more. The clubs have been eager to welcome Parimatch on board. Chief Commercial Officer at Aston Villa, Nicola Ibbetson said:

“This is an exciting announcement for the Club, bringing onboard an international brand like Parimatch who match our own growth ambitions. This partnership will enable us to bring even more opportunities to our fans and we look forward to what we can achieve together.”

Fans can also look forward to a number of joint projects, which are still in the works, in addition to advertisements and special giveaways. These fan engagements will help to ramp up the excitement as the new season gets underway, and allow football fans to get to know Parimatch and all it has to offer.

The announcement of the three-club deal closely follows another new signing for Parimatch, with Chelsea. While all Premier League sides have their loyal fanbases and are ranked the best in the country, Chelsea is without a doubt one of the best clubs.

The side is currently second only to Manchester City in the League table, and is expected to be a fierce contender in upcoming matches. The partnership, which has been penned for the next three seasons, has been welcomed by the club. Club CEO, Guy Laurence, explained why Parimatch and Chelsea are such a good match stating:

“Both Chelsea and Parimatch strive for greatness. We are bold, ready to innovate and, most importantly, we were both born to win. Last year was immensely successful for Parimatch as they expanded and opened new markets, while launching several game-changing projects.”

Extended Deals

Chelsea recently became European champions for the second time in the club’s history, beating Manchester City 1-0 to win the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League. On top these exciting new deals, Parimatch has also extended two existing deals with Premier League sides Everton and Leicester City.

The betting operator first struck a sponsorship deal with Leicester City in September 2020, ahead of its 2020/21 Premier League campaign. That partnership proved to be a successful combination for both parties, and Parimatch is delighted to continue to support the club for another season.

Everton fared even better during the last season, and is now ranked in fourth place on the League table, behind Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. It comes as no surprise then that Parimatch was eager to continue as the club’s partner for the upcoming season.

Parimatch’s roster of English football club partners now cover 30% of the league. The international tech and betting brand is set to gain great exposure from the deals this season, and is looking forward to welcoming new customers to its platforms. Roman Syrotian, co-CEO at Parimatch Tech announced the new three-club deal, saying:

“We are glad to be partnered with these clubs and are excited to utilize the upcoming opportunities these ventures present mutually. Parimatch is in awe of the clubs’ great history and hopes to contribute to their success in the coming years.”

Syrotian went on to wish all its club partners the best of luck for the upcoming season. Parimatch has been going strong since 1994, and now offers platforms on four continents. It has strong ambitions to keep growing, supported by marketing strategies including famous brand ambassadors, high-profile partnerships and involvement with esports.
